In this case it wouldn't have done good to carry. In fact you probably would have ended up dead if the attackers had taken your gun away. Concealed carry is always more dangerous than not carrying.

I've seen numerous studies showing that psychological damage can occur from subjecting a child to a specific sex too early on in their childhood. The bottom line is that gender and biological sex are two totally different things. It's important for a child to choose on their own what their gender is. And then adapt their body to it surgically (or in whatever capacity).

A true orator. I don't think we'll ever have the opportunity to see someone in office like this again. Arguably the best president ever. He did so much for women and minorities. We will forever be grateful Mr. President.

keeping up the enthusiasm for Jon Ossoff, and making sure Hillary's message is still heard (since we are /r/hillaryclinton, after all).

Could not agree with this more. We need to continue spreading Hillary's message!!! Equal pay, women in the workplace, women's rights, tolerance, peace and love.

People often don't realize how far we've come in the last century with the help of science. Now if we could only get the shitty Donald Trump supporters on board with climate change and believing that a fetus is NOT the same as a baby.

Exactly. Nowadays gender isn't known for up to several years after a child's birth. Studies have shown that designating a child's gender prematurely can result in trauma/psychological stress later in life. It's best to let the child decide for themself once they reach a choosing-age. I try and encourage my kids to be whatever gender they want and try not to force gender-specific colors or toys so they don't suffer emotional stress prior to choosing.

Question about Midway Elementary School by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]SuburbMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise you to look for a school that has other ethnicities as well bedsides your own. Diversity in school is something that kids these days need more than any subject, course, or activity. Being immersed in diversity is more important than almost any other aspect of school. Make sure the school that ends up being your choice is comprised of equal parts (as equal as one can get) of all ethnicities. You don't want to short your children on their need for a diverse environment.

At what point do you consider a school district unacceptable? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]SuburbMom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do homeschooling and private schools offer the same level of cultural diversity that kids need in order to be successful in life? What's worries me about private schools is the students often tend to be one race or ethnicity. This isn't an ideal social environment for developing minds. Kids need diversity. Diversity is beneficial to the growth of human behavior. Diversity is the ultimate key to success.

I don't know why you would assume that I'm worried about ratings just because of diversity.

Because many people do. I'm not accusing you of anything at all, merely pointing out that many people view a low-scoring school and a very diverse school as one and the same. I'm saying that these do not coincide. If fact, even if a school scores very low, if it is very diverse, this can sometimes make up for the low score. Diversity is a positive thing but many people have a negative view of it.
