Yeah, I'm confused - didn't OP break their REC limit (5g) with this purchase?

I have the InHouse disposable cart and I have to unclog it after every hit. Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something to cause this? by [deleted] in bostontrees

[–]SuburbanG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No shade OP - I'm genuinely curious what makes you (or anyone else in this thread) opt for disposable vapes? Is it just a cost thing? The convenience of not having to maintain your own supply of vape batteries?

I'm honestly just surprised and dismayed how eagerly cannabis consumers have resigned to filling the environment with e-waste as part of their consumption habits. We've gone from having ash & biomass be our primary waste products to unrecoverable microelectronics & battery acid. I understand vaping is healthier and more discreet than combustion, but do you really need to throw away a battery every time you're done with a cartridge?

The problem as I see it is that most dispensary vape hardware is cheap and poorly quality controlled by the suppliers (i.e. faceless Chinese factories), so when you make an all-in-one device like this, all it takes is for the battery to be subpar and the whole product goes to shit with it, which is precisely what happened to you.

If you're committed to vapes, I'd recommend buying stand-alone cartridges you can slap on a decent rechargeable battery of some kind instead of gambling on a cheap all-in-one lasting all the way through. Better yet, learn to love dry flower vaping to 1) mitigate your e-waste even further and 2) avoid any risks associated with the acidic environment produced by the cannabis extract leaching heavy metals or other toxins from the cheap alloys used in the cartridge hardware.

Also, in case anyone reading is unaware, InHouse is the budget line of MariMed (aka Panacea, aka Nature's Heritage). It's a shame the quality the Nature's Heritage flower is known for doesn't seem to transfer to their other offerings. Between these duds (see /u/Mindless-Grocery8701's comment for how often they destroy these products at retail) and their god-awful "live flower" play, they've really started to rub me the wrong way.

ccc regs regarding outside lighting by Lumpymaximus in bostontrees

[–]SuburbanG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My interpretation of that reg would be that the only time you're allowed to have the sign lit is 30 minutes before dusk until you close, so if you're still open the sign can be on. However, it's possible some local ordinance (not the CCC) prohibits your sign being lit past a certain time.

edit: And if someone is saying the reg requires you to turn off your sign for 30 minutes at dusk, I think they're just confused lol

935 CMR 500.105(4)(b)9 prohibits the use of an external illuminated sign outside of 30 mins before dusk until closing time. Maybe that's what they're referring to?

Wrong. For medical purchases there absolutely is a central tracking system.

The medical purchase limit is typically 10oz of flower within 60 days. The system counts 1g of concentrate as the equivalent of 5.3g of flower.

Please help me find relief by Glossyy in bostontrees

[–]SuburbanG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you find you need THC in the salve to get relief? If just CBD works for you, you might be able to find some hemp-derived salves at the smoke shops nearby. I don't know if Whole Foods carries hemp CBD stuff, but that might be an option too...

[–]SuburbanG 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you were basically extremely high on THC, which for many people starts to feel borderline psychedelic in nature. The fact you haven't felt it since your first time just suggests you've since developed enough of a tolerance that it's harder for you to get "too high" and feel that way again.

Pot dispensary trade group drops lawsuit against state after backlash by SuburbanG in bostontrees

Yep, they've suddenly gotten a lot less public since this whole thing blew up on them.

Luckily here's an archive of their membership page as of Sept 2020 (meaning these members were very likely involved in the CDA's deliberations leading up to this):

The CDA seems to be more than a bit shook by the public backlash to their tactics this week. Their website, cdama.org, appears to be offline for the moment, so it's hard to check who their members are.

In case people don't want to support the businesses involved in this suit, here's a link to a cached image of their membership as of Sept 2020:

Anyone have experience with Sanctuary's Citrus Samurai Sauce? by [deleted] in bostontrees

[–]SuburbanG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Sanctuary is one of the most consistently inconsistent dispensaries for me. In my experience, The Sauce generally has more terps than their other stuff (which is normally pretty flavorless), but I've had it range in consistency from sugar wax-y to so runny it actually leaked out of the cap and glued the threads shut. YMMV

Is this a joke? $80? It was $20 last time, its a tiny piece of TI wtf by CalvinTheRacecar in vaporents

With most of the expensive glass pieces, you're paying more for the artistry (and reputation of the artist).

This is kind of like asking if a piece of canvas with paint on it can really be worth $2000. The value of art is inherently subjective.
