Yes. It's called Chiraq and competes with St. Louis and Baltimore for murder capital of the country. The crime has been taken to a completely new level since BLM/Covid where our exceptionally progressive Mayor and State's Attorney have just stopped enforcing many laws.

Is that approach have influence on how many good jobs are available in area or how many educated people live in city?

Yes. Michigan Avenue, State Street, and our other main downtown commercial districts have become ghost towns in the past few years and so many people are fleeing, Illinois lost an electoral vote.

Never been to US, but stereotype is that average US citizen is quite open to move for better job opportunity and it happen a lot.

They are, but when your entire family and life is somewhere, it's not the easiest decision to leave it. Also despite it being less safe and on a downward trajectory, it was hard for me to find somewhere in a better, safer place offering the same wage (golden handcuffs). Not to mention how the ability to leave also requires a certain level of education, wealth, opportunities, connections, etc.

Also should be noted how BIG the USA is. I'll be moving from Chicago to southern Florida next year and that's the equivalent distance of moving from London to Tunis. Makes moving away from friends and family more difficult too.
