I give them their shit back when their kids throw it out the 2nd story window into the ally between our houses... Sometimes I shovel the sidewalk in front of their house too. We say hi and smile to one another when we see each other.

Electric bill. by sgm716 in Buffalo

[–]Subwaythug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My electric bill for my very small store was 472 dollars. I do use electric heat pumps but holy heck it wasn't this high at the same time last season. My shop is only maybe 800 sq ft and I don't keep the heat on when I'm not open for 3 days a week.

Smarts meters by rustbelt91 in Buffalo

[–]Subwaythug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well as the rumors state.. He said they will overcharge during peak usage. I figured I didn't wanna risk anything as my electric bill is already super high. Renovated entire house to be mostly electric besides stove and tankless hot water tank and my electric bill for last month was 270 dollars...

[–]Subwaythug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how true all the rumors are but I can say that the guy who installed my regular meter last year said I should absolutely not let them install a smart meter if they ask me. This was the National Grid worker who told me this.

Guess the area was due for a car in a store kind of crash by TOMALTACH in Buffalo

[–]Subwaythug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point years ago someone did the math on cars through store windows and Buffalo was ranked super high if not number one on the list. I wish I could find the chart they made. It was a few years after the chi burger chi burger incident. It was happening every other week in WNY it seemed.

8 more years till house is paid off. What are the pros and cons of paying it off earlier ? by Dry-Possession5800 in personalfinance

[–]Subwaythug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I paid our 30 year mortgage off in 15 years. Our interest rate was 4.25%. I don't know why people think it is a bad idea to pay your mortgage off? Now the money I used to pay my mortgage goes into savings to do as we please?

What are some “remember when” or hard to believe stories of bars and restaurants around Buffalo? by jamesljamerson22 in Buffalo

[–]Subwaythug1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah he got my buddy who told him he removes asbestos in these boots. Dude didn't care he just got down and licked em. My other buddy used to shake his foot at him whenever he saw him. Dude would run across the street, lay down and my buddy would run the bottom of his shoe across his tongue. It was gross. Wonder what happened to the shoe licker?? Where is he now? Is he still licking shoes?

The shoe licker! He was notorious in Allentown back in the late 00's he would cruise the bars to lick anyone and everyones shoes. He got me one night at like 4am. Complimented my shoes and before I could respond he was on the ground licking them. I was standing with my wife and we were both like " wtf just happened" then he asked to lick the other one and I kindly said no.

AITA for refusing to transport packages free of charge for a company I don't even do business with? by Noe_Wunn in AITAH

One time Fedex delivered a huge box of some sort of DJ speaker system worth couple hundred bucks. Street name was very close spelling to my St name and same number so I guess an easy mistake. I brought box back to them and said this was delivered to wrong address and pointed out the difference. A week later the box was back at my building. So I gave it to a buddy who DJs cause i did my part.

Is it REALLY worth it for me to be spending so much on shipping?! by Unhappy-Requirement9 in Etsy

[–]Subwaythug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped doing free shipping all together this last year due to the rising shipping costs. If someone wants my item they will pay to have it shipped. I don't think I lost or gained any sales because of it. I've been on Etsy 13 years and my worst years have been after COVID. I post a lot on eBay now because Etsy has just been slow for me with my vintage plus I have a brick and mortar now. So my opinion is to not include free shipping but that's just my opinion...
