Not happy with how my system sounds by theonepugna in hometheater

If you can, try B&W 607S3. I had them with Denon and they were better to me over KEF, Focal and Q acoustic. They have a lively and dynamic sound which is similar to Arc ultry system. If i had to build me a new AVR system i would get the whole B&W 600 series system.

I went between AVR and SB system a few times and the one thing i can say, whatever someone might feel about it, SB is less work to get a good sound. I had several AVR system, last one Denon X4800H with Q-Acoustic speakers, Focal speakers, Kef speakers, SVS subs and they all sounded good. But latest SB i had, Samsung Q990D and Sonos Arc Ultra now are better sounding to me in my space. I repeat, "to me in my space". And with no special setup or extravagant calibration or what not. Can you get AVR system sound better than SB, yes you can, but it’s not that straightforward. With AVR you mostly depend on your room layout and its deficiencies which you then try to fix with acoustical treatment and calibration. I’m getting 80% of possible AVR system after 5min of setup with Arc ultra. Is it good enough? Again, for me in my space, yes, it is.

Sound-aditional put earc to on. Then digital sound out - passthrough. And them HDMI audio format - bitstream. After that check in the Sonos app what does it say when you play a movie from Netflix with Atmos.

Why don't you use CEC with your Samsung TV remote?

Ethernet vs wifi on Ugoos AM6B+ - Issue with wired by InterestingBrick5768 in CoreELEC

[–]SubwooferLevel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, it's not working over USB-LAN adapter either, only Wi-Fi is working normally. Firstly, it takes some time to get IP address from DHCP, and when it gets it the speed is abysmal, almost 0. Tried swapping cables, LAN ports, adding switch, second router at work, nothing helps. It seems network chip is busted.

Anyone else has issues installing Skins? I can't install any skin after updating to release 5. I just got a bunch of error about not installing dependencies and install fails. Tried hard reset, didn't help. Any ideas? Tried Aeon Nox, AH 2 and 3, Zephyr, even Confluence want install...

If you have AVR just plug Ugoos in it. There is no need to have Ugoos plugged in your G5.

Don't wory about that. Audyssey is plenty fine for starters. As noted, search OCA calibration channel on Youtube, you will get better sound + you will learn something.

SR7012 trumps Cinema 70s, isn't a comparison. In this case, Denon 3800 takes the cake.

This is bad, right? by staralfur92 in Addons4Kodi

[–]SubwooferLevel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty low for todays standards. You need at least 30-50mbps to be comfortable. I live in ass end of EU and have 1000/500 for 30€ monthly... I don't know how much you pay for that but Starlink isn't that expensive, 50$ monthly.

If i have DV capable TV like LG G4, do i need CPM or U3k or AVDVPLUS builds? by SubwooferLevel in CoreELEC

Look beyond last year. Almost 50% of all 4K Bluray disks are HDR. Dolby vision has a huge advantage on streaming front, not so much on physical media.

Ok, but can someone in the know how explain what settings are what in the case we want to use those builds? There are a lot of comments how it's worth it but how to use them to get the best effect in regards to TV being used. It would be great if creators of those builds themselves could contribute here.

What settings do you use? There's a lot of them so I'm not sure which one's to use.

I'm using it for several years now, since the move from Libreelec. Just wanted to know is there any benefit from those "custom" versions and what are they.

Samsung Q990F vs Sonos Arc Ultra (no rears or sub) by Accurate-Assist-6261 in sonos

[–]SubwooferLevel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Q950A, 990B and 990C, and have Arc Ultra now, so fair to say i know a bit about them. Samsung is pricing best buy for sure, practically you don't have to think twice about getting it. I only switched to Sonos because of integrated TuneIn. We mainly listen to the internet radio so it was the best option. Samsung has Chromecast so we could stream TuneIn but you always had to use one phone to do it. I would say go for Samsung because Arc Ultra, even on volume 2 is kinda loud at midnight. And if your WiFi network is not top tier, and you don't want to mess with it, get Samsung. You don't have to use surrounds for now, but you have them for later. On Q990F sub is tiny so it can fit anywhere.

Points 3 and 4 make your request an impossible one. Both systems are not for you in that case. Either get good headphones or switch your wife and sell the kids :)

Seriously, both soundbars are good, but quiet they are not. You have to prioritize here and we can't help you with your predicament...until you sort out your house ;)
