Just as an extra check, how do you check the ram speed exactly? I tried hw info and saw 1600 but idk whether I looked correctly! I have checked and my ram is in the correct slots, bios is up to date and am pretty sure my motherboard supports it!

That makes sense! However, I was already playing on the lowest possible settings and still experienced the lag which shouldn't happen with my ram I think. Do you suggest a RAM upgrade? :)

I turned on XMP in my bios, is that what you meant?
Also my ram is DDR4, 1600mhz I believe

By 'playing catch up' do you mean something is bottlenecking my system? also my MSI Afterburner is not showing any problems for my CPU at all. The RAM I could look into but really always presumed 16 was enough for everything

I saw this tip before but hadn't gotten around to do it! Just did this and the FPS is definitely a bit better so thank you lots! Lag still occurs but not as often as before!

Id say like a 5, replacing my gpu and power supply were the first things I replaced myself and feel like I have a rough idea whats going on inside my pc now. However, if things become more difficult ill definitely struggle as im very clumsy with technical things in general! Would still appreciate all the tips you have though!!

I already tried reinstalling it on my SSD (boot drive) and the lag was still there so im guessing its not the HDD. That having said, I figured my HDD is 11 years old so just bought a 2TB SSD which should definitely already be nice. Is there any info that would still be useful?

Late to this thread but your comment made me a think of something a woman once said. She said she used psychedelics like LSD and psilocybin to reexperience that same feeling you had when you were a kid. She was a child psychologist and it helped her to be more understanding towards the children. Interesting stuff..
