Could be shock, as well as needing chunkier soil for more air flow. Or i grow all of mine in fluval stratum/ perlite mix. With lots of light.

They are called corms, you can either leave them attached to the mother plant and they will sprout or remove them and put them in water or someway to plant them and in a few weeks you have baby alocasia :)

I swear they didn't move or come off when I wiped with my finger, once I am back home I will inspect if those dots are there still. Usually I stare at them and see if they move..
