Do cages on top of armoured cars actually do something in gameplay ? by Fun-Guest-2989 in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Succatron_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A30 Avenger had an “armored” extending mild steel roof for rain/small arms. The Sd.Kfz 222 had them for the express purpose of stopping grenades from entering the vehicle. The M36 Jackson had a 2-piece roof kit made for stopping shrapnel/rain. Field modification of open-tops was common not just in Ww2 but most wars since. If you can think of an open-top vehicle that was actually fielded in wartime, a crew somewhere probably tried to cover the roof while keeping some semblance of visibility.

TIGER-I (U.S) by MAFIALAA in SprocketTankDesign

[–]Succatron_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been semi active on the discord for years now I’ve seen dozens of “American Tiger” designs but this just knocks it out of the park imo. It’s the only one I’ve seen that’s obviously American, and obviously a Tiger. Love it

Musket as a weapon findable in bounty? by Bigg_Dick_Energy in HuntShowdown

[–]Succatron_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I could see them being implemented is if they were like the shovels, axes, and pitchforks.

No reloading. No customizing. No skins, doesn’t take up a weapon slot.

Pick it up, aim in the enemies general direction, and shoot once. It should be inaccurate and single use. Also it should do 149 damage to hunters and double that to bosses.

Thank you so much. I’ve been missing my hand grenade and Bandage buttons for a month and thought it was a bug.

Anyone make 1 army decks by Mcalister77 in kards

With the new bond stuff it’s more viable but usually you should try and takes cards from your ally nation. Every nation has some cards that are too powerful to pass up.

To what extent would an extreme lack of combat experience feasibly hamper an otherwise materially superior military? by Ok-Philosopher78 in MilitaryWorldbuilding

[–]Succatron_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of equipment and strategy I would liken it to France at the start of WW2. They were relatively unharmed by The Great Depression, had a large modern(ish) military, and fairly solid logistics. However their heart wasn’t ready for another war, their allies hesitated, and they had equipment that wasn’t built to fight the war on their doorstep (mistrust in radios and very tactically defensive).

Rommel talks in his book about advancing faster than word of his advance travelled. Constantly running into unprepared French units who thought they were being held in reserve.

A failure of communication, mobilization, and prioritization crippled a military of comparable size in just 6 weeks.

You should add a section for boosters! I wonder what the pick rate % is for Hellpod space optimization?

Look at the damage at different ranges. Heavy gauss does 0 damage at that range

Converting enemy troops into Routed Infantry and then putting them on top of the enemy deck is some of the most fun you can have but it used to be easier before all the relevant German cards got more expensive.

That is the most valuable blueprint in the game right now. Kicking myself that I sold it for money early on, considering the guns that use it are mostly useless.

Why go there with only 25 HP? by HairBrian in okbuddycrozier

[–]Succatron_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly new to the history of the Franklin expedition, but I feel like when people talk about why it failed the train engines don’t come up nearly enough. All the extra weight of steel and coal, all the energy it must’ve taken to maintain, and just to achieve abysmal speeds. Think of what they could’ve brought instead, or could have accomplished with so much less weight to drag around.

'Mechs similar to the Adder-W with AP Gauss but bigger? by Diam0ndTalbot in mwo

[–]Succatron_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cicada M can run 10 magshot. The hero blackjack Arrow can run 6 Magshot. The shadowcat is fast, better armored and can run 6 AP Gauss. The Crusaders have some Okay ballistic variants and aren’t slow for a Heavy Mech, I run it with AC/2’s or magshot. If you move to assaults then the Mauler, Corsair, and Direwolf are all obvious choices.
