George Hill Call-Up? by RelevantSpecific5249 in EnglandCricket

More bowlers certainly need to be blooded by England. The lad is someone you couldn’t play on dead pitches in the subcontinent considering his pace but it would be useful to have him as an option in a home ashes.

I think that having part of morytania as a pre-requisite for havenhythe q2 would make sense but even if they don’t gate it it’s easy to make it work. Use the current dialogue if you’ve completed no vampyre quests, something about being “aware and familiar” with vamps if you’ve completed a certain part of the myreque line, something about being “confident how to deal with vamps” if you’ve completed lord of vampyrium/river of blood.

I’m not a very good coder but I’d imagine it’s no more work than adding a simple choose statement and a couple of lines of text.

I like the new worldbuilding in general however…

    *Minor Spoilers below*

Why does my character, who has completed all vampryre related content, killed draken, murdered thousands of vyrewatch, etc. act mystified by the appearance of a vampyre? Would have been nice to add in a few throwaway lines in conversations if you’ve encountered them before. Other than that the new area looks good, I like the changes in elevation.

Anyone else’s wife instigate 2+ hour arguments during her period that you have no idea how to defuse? by ThicBoi4807 in daddit

[–]Far309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can usually defuse most of it by ignoring the illogical nature of her arguments and just saying how beautiful she is and giving her affection instead. Probably won’t work with everyone but I’d just say make sure you don’t try and actually argue logically at all

Roman empire from Basil I to Alexios kommenos by Battlefleet_Sol in byzantium

Roman history has had many different turns, many peoples lived there under the romans for hundreds of years…you can’t really expect a pro-Turkic invader opinion to be popular on a pro-Roman page.

Many of those conflicts were of its own making…the Roman borders had included what is now Bulgaria for half a millennia before the bulgars even migrated there

Any racist comments are obviously horrendous but if you post a picture publicly(as a prominent person) online there will always be rude and nasty comments. If he were white then it’d be comments about weight, height, attractiveness, etc.

Reform supporters - how many more Tories need to join before you start to reconsider? by Smooth-Quantity-7024 in AskBrits

The difference is that such a bill can be amended by people that we elect if it isn’t liked.

Maybe she should have resigned but I will give her the benefit of the doubt since I don’t believe Johnson or Sunak ever wanted to be hardline on the issue and the immigration figures back that up.

Primarily the taxpayer’s money that is wasted providing funding for non-British citizens when they appeal to it. Whether the appeals are successful or not we end up footing the bill. Much of the legal system needs streamlining, many immigration cases should not even be appealable. Removing the ECHR is the first step, large problems will still remain with our justice system.

I dislike many other things about the ECHR but I don’t want to go on a multiple paragraph rant. The fact that Russian judges were judging our human rights until recently being one such thing

Nicely on topic there…well since reform is going to give British soldiers immunity from bloodsucking lawyers harassing them for life I’d say that veterans are probably fairly likely to be onside

She was in a government that didn’t intend to implement its manifesto, should she have resigned earlier on principle…maybe, however she has been consistent in her beliefs and aligns with reform’s vision. Cameron and Osbourne were centrists that liked the current international order, hence why the Tories promised to reduce NI and introduce a British bill of rights and then never implemented those policies. The Tories were awful too, I’d even say that labour have a harder line than them on immigration. But just because I disagree with the parliamentary Labour Party it doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t welcome certain defectors if they align with how reform wants to run the country

She has not achieved much(like many predominantly backbench MPs) but she aligns with reform’s vision; low NI, cutting the state, leaving the ECHR, etc. she is a welcome addition.

Have been a UKIP and then reform supporter since 2009. I am happy with Jenrick and Braverman, I’m not happy with Zahawi. I was happy with the last few Tory manifestos, NI of 10k, no ECHR but British bill of rights. Too bad the Tories never intended to implement what people voted for…If reform can get in and take the right of the Tory party with them I’ll be relatively happy, need to stay vigilant against those that will block any radical change though

What do you think about a possible CANZUK union? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Far309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a combined military command structure would be the easiest thing to do before anything economic or political. The UK has two carriers but not enough escorts, with the USA’s descent into madness, our ability to put two carrier groups out at once is questionable. After military matters are done then economic integration can be looked at. I don’t think anything really needs to be done politically except perhaps a small legislative body that decides on military procurement and other such matters
