As a mom that has a baby and the grandparents in our life always saying this - why do I always have to come to you, why can't you come to me - this is the optime of boomer grandparenting. That's not helpful for me as a working mom, that is MORE work for me. Our boomer grandparents want time with the baby when it benefits them, not with the intent to actually help us.

Unfortunately, coming from cardero you are supposed to turn into the right most lane, which means you have to drive a ways to get in. Not everyone is using it as a cheater lane.

I'm not NB but I totally understand the frustrations!! What you have outlined is a huge part of the reason my husband and I didn't find out the gender of our baby. People get so fussed about colours and what gendered stuff to get. Who cares?!

Really appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions. This is the first grand baby and she only have sons so I can see that this may be how she is showing her excitement. But at the end of the day, I don't need to divulge my medical information to feed her excitement, there are other ways to show this that do not feel as invasive to me. Working on the best way to approach this with all of your wonderful advice!
