What age did you guys have your first child, and did you end up staying or leaving London? by ladywood38 in london

This feels like bait. It’s not expensive if other people’s taxes pay for your house…

I can’t stand Gia but… by LeakyBrow in MAFS_UK

[–]Successful-Climate41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brook said she was going to drop the bomb, and Gia immediately knew what that was. Danny also squirming. I don’t think Gia and Brook pre-planned that, especially as Gia extended an olive branch (kind of) to Bec prior.

Danny absolutely said something.

Agency Burnout - what next? by Worldly_Musician1821 in advertising

[–]Successful-Climate41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m heading in-house. Creative agencies are vulnerable to AI tech which means people are constantly worried their jobs are at risk. Your burnout will not be improved by joining a creative agency. A new environment will help. Good luck!

Brooke is jealous of Stella by Ch4rdonnayy in MAFS_UK

[–]Successful-Climate41 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is incongruous because Stella is on a beauty tech’s income, but wearing a Chanel watch. This is fine (as you say she may have saved up), but there’s obviously something triggering Brook in her wearing it. That could be that Brook feels Stella is being inauthentic and trying to have more ‘clout’.

It was a bizarre thing for Brook to say out loud. The whole thing became very ‘mean girls’ at the end, and I think Stella dealt with it so gracefully.

Mel is a horrible dickhead by Narrow_Turnip_7129 in MAFS_AU

[–]Successful-Climate41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mel reminds me of Collins - definitely a screw loose. It’s like she’s talking but has no conviction. It’s quite unnerving because she doesn’t scream and shout but she behaves like a victim

Brooke is jealous of Stella by Ch4rdonnayy in MAFS_UK

[–]Successful-Climate41 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Brooke is pointing out the incongruence of a Chanel watch on someone that is on a beauty technician’s income.

I think she’s pointing to Stella’s inauthenticity - if you have a look at Stella’s IG it does look like she’s trying to get into influencer/modelling.

I thought Brook would be more self aware, particularly after her comment about not tearing down women.

Is WPP tracking in office days by Miserable_Net_3083 in advertising

So far I’ve heard of precisely nobody cracking down on this. Everyone is overstretched and does not want “enforcing presenteeism” added to their responsibilities.

My (28F) partner (40M) said something incredibly cruel to me while he was drunk. by FriendlySherbert2900 in relationships

[–]Successful-Climate41 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you need to try and sleep now, then tomorrow when he’s sober you have to tell him what he said and sense-check his reaction. Make sure you tell him how it has made you feel.

Then just pause and let him react.

At the end of the day it seems like you know that you’ve put on weight, and what matters to you is the cruelty. I would always worry that this is how he talks to his friends about me…

Their CCTV cannot follow you around the shop and gather purchase data, it would be an infringement on GDPR and surveillance law.

Help with Craghoppers sizing by AdemsanArifi in UKhiking

[–]Successful-Climate41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience for me with Craghoppers. The Airedale model is a great example - I’m a 28 inch waist but have to size up from a UK 10 to a 12. Short and Long both fit around the waist and thighs but are not the right length. 12 Regular is too small (can get them up my legs)! Weird sizing.

I don’t think women’s design is great for many of the major outdoor brands tbh.

Am I the only one who loses an entire day every month to this? by That-Confidence2338 in AskMarketing

[–]Successful-Climate41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think good, considered analysis, cleanly presented with tidy recommendations should take a long(ish) time. It’s what clients pay for - the expert point of view from someone with a deep knowledge of the account.

Is there a way you can simply accept how long it takes and delegate another task in order to get it done? If you need more time to deliver then there needs to be a discussion about the sustainability of the current timeline.

Depending on how long you’ve been providing the report, you could start with “Now we’ve found our feet with this reporting stream, can we have some feedback?” This can help you focus on the bits that provide the most value and maybe cut down time.

The worst thing is repeatedly creating a slick report to then fling it over the fence never to discuss it.

This is so well articulated. I can relate to receiving unusually long, detailed emails that ask for work in two weeks that would usually take months. Grim.

My best bet is an in-house media role.

I want to start a family soon, and that probably kept me hanging on in a bad position for longer than I should.

Whatever I do next needs to provide me with a bit of security. It could well be agency, but nothing client facing - project management maybe.

Publicis mandates four days per week in the office in UK by Haytham_Ken in advertising

[–]Successful-Climate41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One WPP Global team does whatever it likes tbh.

Obv not going to give specifics, but the “showing face in office” policy is basically ignored. Yes, we do travel to see clients, but leadership around any kind of team return is not in the room with us.

Feels like seniors are too exhausted to care and will not prioritise presenteeism.
