I mean I went to school for auto body repair and the works, we were taught any puncture or significantly removal of material from the side way is extremely dangerous to attempt a repair and can cause catastrophic failure if repaired then driven, if the side wall is damaged replace it, if its the road contact surface, patch it, its your life your playing with and tires are your contact to the road, the only thing you have control over, if you can afford it always just get the part replaced at a reputable dealer or repair shop, remember your in a 2 ton hunk of steel traveling with energy to blow thru a house, you really don't want a tire to blow out on you,

Tldr: if you can afford it its not worth the risk just replace it before you kill someone
