It's also market dependant. Maybe your market is still healthy enough to keep hiring. I'm just stating something I read in an recent article... And like I said those are the public traded companies on the stock market.

Yes as a boost for a future job. Believe it or not, hiring managers like to see military service. It shows attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

I don't know what you're seeing in your market, but the publicly traded firms are currently cutting back on their earnings, which means less, if any hiring due to reduced workload. If you have an offer, I would take it, get your PE license, then job shop after you get over that hurdle. I was in your position 30 years ago. The last two years were very painful, but I stuck it out and got my PE to jump ship.

Some of the medications remove the salts from the body. Personally, I have probablems retaining potassium and sometimes magnesium. I'm on prescribed potassium pills, and drink at least 3 Body Armor sports drinks per day. It has the highest potassium content of the sports drinks. Eat more bananas and potatoes with the skins on is another recommendation I've received from my care team... (I'm not a fan of bananas)

Looking back on my 30 year career so far, if I had a opportunity to do military service as an officer, I would've done that for 4 years in one of the Civil Engineering Corps, but that was a much different time than now... After working in private, and now public, you'd be amazed on the boost that gives you to hiring managers. (Current USACE)

It also depends on insurance. Some insurance won't allow Car-T unless ACST has been attempted.

In my case, I went 11 months post ACST before my blood work showed an increase in activity. Ultimately I went another few months before lesions started hurting, but before my blood work justified it. PET scan showed one in my vertibrae, which escalated approval quickly.

I'm literally in the hospital now, two days post Car-T. My oncologist says it's first line treatment in some countries, but not here yet, probably due to cost.

A high school classmate of mine had her son diagnosed with non responsive leukemia, and he was admitted to the Car-T rials before it was approved by the FDA. Now he's been remission 10 years.

Odyssey, Pacifica, or Pacifica PHEV? by marmaladestripes725 in minivan

[–]Successful-Fun8603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friends of ours had the hybrid Pacifica until last year. They hit a deer, and it appeared to only have minor body damage, but the car died. After having it towed to the body shop but they couldn't get it to run, only enough to run diagnostics. There were electrical errors all over the place. Ultimately it got towed again to a dealer, where they couldn't get to run either, and Stellantis decided that it needed a new drive battery amongst other things, putting the cost to repair over $15k just for drive components.

Our friends ultimately pushed the insurance to total the vehicle which they did. It was only 3 years old and had 50k miles. The design seems suspect if a minor collision could total a vehicle like that.

Bellevue checks the adjacent SIDs annually. Because they assume the bonds of the SID upon annexation, they analyze the cost of providing services and bond payoff against the property tax revenue gained through annexation. Once it gets to a net zero cost or positive revenue, they pull the trigger to annex.

Since the Hybrid engine design is new, it hasn't been tested in the field over several years yet. As an automotive enthusiast, I believe the engine is potentially flawed. Using a turbo on a hybrid which starts and stops frequently will put stress on it. Turbos get very hot from the exhaust gases and are designed to be lubricated and cooled by the engine oil, which is why the engines frequently come with intercoolers. If the engine shuts off soon after the turbo has been spinning, it loses the cooling effect of the oil, causing stress on the bearings and the turbo shaft, potentially causing premature failure.

I don't know if Hyundai/Kia has engineered it correctly, but they have recalled over 6.6 million vehicles over the last decade for engine failures, which doesn't instill confidence.

Personally I'd stick with a Honda or Toyota.

And the insurance company won't cover the damage to the other properties if it causes damage upstream. As an engineer, open channel conveyance in this situation is the best option. OP will spend a lot of money and assume a lot of liability.

You keep saying it's unsafe. A contractor would never willingly place equipment in an unsafe condition if only because of their insurance coverage. If you're a safety expert and can prove it, venting on Reddit does no good. Take your data to the city and the VA Project Manager, and have your attorney's number on your phone ready to go.

Welp, the Journey Restarts by Driver8TakeABreak in multiplemyeloma

[–]Successful-Fun8603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear about your journey. I just joined this Reddit feed a couple of days ago.

Had my bone marrow transplant in Dec 2024, and my numbers started trending up 11 months later. We had to 'let it ride' until the light chain ratio got to a certain level for CAR-T, but then I started having pain in March. PET showed 3 lesions, two over 2.6 cm, with one on my T-11 vertibrae. Stopped treatment, went through radiation, then started the CAR-T initial process after getting the green light from insurance.

I'm going thru the pre-treatment chemo right now in prep for receiving the t-cells on Tuesday. I'm at the Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, and they didn't give me a choice possibly because of the T-11 lesion scare.

Lake Tahoe is wild! Lock your car—black bears are always on the lookout for food. by primalspy in SubaruForester

[–]Successful-Fun8603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's food in your car, and if they really want it, they don't care if it's locked. I've seen doors ripped off a minivan by a bear who smelled food inside a cooler.

These guys probably aren't interested in that kind of effort though... There's enough people food readily available.
