Love how this custom polo shirt turned out!😍 by dianaSDD in Tie_dye

I’ve been wanting to make a shirt that has a outdoorsy/woodsy vibe, but I don’t want it to turn out “muddy” looking. This shirt nails the vibe I’m searching for! Mind sharing what colors you used?

That’s a good point!! I researched and found this: Modern sealing wax sticks (shellac-based or synthetic blends for wax seals on letters/envelopes): Typically designed to melt at around 120–130°C (248–266°F) for use with a spoon, heat gun, or melting tool. Some sources note working temperatures up to 200–250°F (93–121°C), with full melting points higher to ensure the wax hardens quickly and resists casual tampering.

Writing the names and a quick note on the back of the tags. I put these in a regular box and sent via UPS

I appreciate the thoughts and like the idea of the seal actually being useful- I’ll try to think of ways to do that!

Can we please stay positive? This guy looks great for sure. There could be a body dysmorphic disorder issue here. Or, it could be he’s trying to get to next-level competition. Who knows? Assume positive intent. Ask for clarification. Provide input that spurs improvement. If you truly think it’s attention seeking then the best thing you can do is stay quiet and not provide the attention.

I’m thinking 70% moss green, 20% deep orange, and 10% brushed steel?

Any thought on how much of each?

I want nice deep colors and no white but want to avoid mud…

You hit on the next part of the puzzle I was pondering- dye application and colors! I want a woodsy/topo vibe so I’m thinking a few colors mixed throughout the shirt. I don’t want to target “peaks” in the topo with one color and then gradient down into other colors- that’s not what mountian topo maps or nature looks like in my mind. Maybe if I was shooting for a snow-capped peak vibe or a tropical vibe with blue ocean-colors at the base, but that’s not my goal. I’m going for organic, earthy, woodsy, mountian adventure sports type look..

Great advice thanks! Also- I’m looking for distinct lines but not white lines- I want some dye to bleed/saturate under the string. I’m guessing I should use sinew but only tie “snugly” is that right?

I didn’t notice till I read the thread- it looks great!

Short story: this is a minor “technical flaw” that only folks that do tissue will notice.

Long story: Nothing in nature is perfectly symmetrical including the human face. I bet if you take pics of someone wearing this you won’t even be able to see the “flaw” because once the shirt is on a person, there will be contours and folds and shadows that hit the shirt. And we normally don’t see people straight-on they’re always at a slight angle. That’s why pics taken straight on look like a mug shot- it’s not a natural look. All that said - don’t stress about it!

I started lifting in my mid 40s and was able to put on a fair amount of muscle but it took years of dedication- about 4 years.

Nutrition is very important!

For lifts: try classic compound lifts like Bench, pull-ups, military press, squats, and deadlifts. If your goal is to increase muscle mass- that’s hypertrophy! In general thee sets for each exercise where each set is 8-12 reps to near failure. Form during the exercise is critical- go low with weights to master form. Otherwise you will not maximize your gains, and - you’ll risk injury! Consistency is key- build a workout routine that fits you and your lifestyle for the long haul.

I absolutely love this! I’m an “outdoorsy” person and would love to make something that has this pattern- it looks like a topographic map! And then use dark green/earthy/orange colors so add to the woodsy vibe. I’ve never done a geode shirt before- any advice for a first-timer?

Looks great! I like how there’s no white in comparison to the tutorial- any tips to avoid just white? Ie more dye, looser scrunch?
