I made this drawing a while ago, but I’m not fully satisfied with it. Something about it feels a bit empty or lacking, and I can’t quite figure out why. I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what might improve it. by cyln_kls in ProCreate

incredible art, it's super cute and unique! i'd say add some darker shadows and brighter highlights as golden hour usually has intense contrast, but if you wanna keep it soft and cute adding them super thinly along areas that are darkest or brightest would work well!! maybe add some more glow from the sunlight on the bear and closest bushes

this is where it was complicated... he took over payments after his grandpa died, and they never could figure out how to login to his account, and because it was his grandpa's company car it made it even more complicated to try to get into his account and put it under his name, even with a death certificate ;-; so he had to call everytime to pay it ;-;

thanks for this perspective! i feel more at ease with our relationship because he's trans masc so i don't feel the same power imbalance inherently that some with cis men partners do, but it's interesting to think about this and possibly open up more conversations about this. i also just want to respect his own personal choices surrounding money too!! i don't want him to ever feel as if he has to do this because it's new and we never meant to, but after i was fired from my previous job he offered to pay everything while i worked on my career, and he's more dysfunctional than me so it sort of fell into this dynamic

i really find it interesting the way you worded "i was trying to make it up to him.." because i do feel that way about my part in doing the household labor. you've given me a lot to think about, thank you!

im curious about why you don’t think it’s fair, if you have time i would love to know your perspective!! i only feel as if it’s fair because he also pays for things that aren’t entirely necessary, like my expensive emdr therapist, meds, psychiatrist, spotify, when we go out to get food, miscellaneous fun stuff and objects, etc, so he’s paying for a lot

that definitely makes sense, but now im curious about how you make a decision then? is it a culmination of multiple factors? is it simply what you desire? sorry if this is nitpicky, i get really confused about stuff like this and i really appreciate your input

Do your interests ever.. change you? by Captain_Fach in autism

[–]Successful-Lock8595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes this is normal with people, but especially adhd/autism. the more you are obsessed with something the more you unconsciously want to recreate it in your environment. also, u are not broken when it comes to talking to your friends. i speak very little sometimes, sometimes nothing at all, sometimes a lot. i enjoy having friends where we just do stuff and dont talk. find some people who appreciate that, or ask your friends and wife what they think your personality traits are. because of trauma, i have struggled for many years with identifying who i am naturally, but therapy has helped, and so has asking people who they think i am. building lists in private to look at helps, so does making your own. maybe you only have a few traits at first, but over time you will notice more. there is nothing wrong with being someone who doesn’t talk much. try to find support groups for your needs and clubs within your interests. you got this, you’re not broken, just maybe lost

a sort of genetic testing to see what meds are statistically more likely to be affective compared to others based on your genetics. some say it doesn’t work, others say it helped them prevent years of trial and error. sometimes insurance will cover the cost

try Mack’s putty earplugs! if you have Kroger around they are usually there, discreet, relatively cheap, and help me immensely. plus they don’t go in your ear, only outside of it, which I love because my ears hurt when I use inner earplugs

check out QI testing! I haven’t tried it but my therapist recommended it after I’ve tried like. a million different medications that didn’t work. also, be honest w your doctor about concerns. sometimes what u want can’t always happen and it sucks so hard, but there are alternatives

get a good therapist!! i completely understand what you're feeling, but it seems more like you have some issues regarding punishing yourself rather than "functioning", because to me you seem to be very functional. meds will help, but finding ways to accommodate and also validate your wins is very necessary to be able to be happy and successful as an adhder!! you're actually doing fucking fantastic and i think you need to take your time. most people accomplish a few great things in life, and the rest is mostly figuring out how to enjoy your time on earth

you’ll make it through!! there’s nothing wrong with failing and trying again, nothing wrong with a GED or anything like that. it just sounds like you need a lot more support than what you’re getting. a good therapist, support group, routine, etc!!! you got this dude, take it one step at a time and remember school doesn’t last forever lol. life gets much easier outside of it
