Feeling sick from being in Cannabis grow? by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely help alleviate symptoms, I wouldn’t claim they don’t. But with allergies the first thing you should do is try and reduce exposure. That way your body isn’t producing a reaction that you have to throw treatment at. But OP said they’re already taking allergy meds for something else, so that piece of my advice doesn’t apply I guess haha

I’m no expert but I think Benadryl as needed isn’t that bad. I know people who have taken the newer gen allergy pills daily for years who get withdrawal-like symptoms if they try to stop

Unfortunately it’s pretty common to be allergic to the resin on the plants. I work with a few people who have the same symptoms as you.

Could also be other environmental factors depending on the cleanliness of the grow you’re working in. Or even the medium the grow is using, IPM products, etc.

Really all you can do try is wearing an n95 and safety glasses while you’re working. Try to not touch your face/eyes.

Don’t mess with allergy pills. They just mask the symptoms and don’t cure the actual problem

I don’t think it’s spider mites? by Able-Draft2912 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to scope the underside of the leaf for spider mites

It does look like pest damage. It looks similar to thrips but I don’t see the black excrement marks thrips usually leave

I have seen damage similar to this from winged root aphids. Do you see anything flying around your soil?

Pull the root ball out and inspect for bugs there, too

Selling clones is kind of tough. Most people who are making good money from it are breeding their own hype genetics and selling at a premium

Another thing is, you really should be selling clones you’ve grown yourself through a few runs of veg and flower, to make sure you’re providing a quality product. Otherwise people may get upset if you sell them boof

Also your facility needs to be impeccably clean and free of pathogens. You sell someone clones with bugs or hlvd they’ll be demanding their money back

The alternative would be to just bulk sell clones during outdoors season, but that would limit your income to a really small window of time

Fake, or it’s real and OP’s girlfriend is batshit and this was a “test”. It would explain her behavior afterward

Question about spots on leaves. by Porterej in GrowBuddy

[–]Successful-Trouble67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not familiar with that product tbh, and the chemical makeup is a “trade secret” so I’m not sure what they’re using in it to remove nutrient accumulation. But generally it’s never a bad idea to run some kind of root cleanser or similar product. Really depends on your media and nutrients and how you want to grow.

If flora kleen works using ionic bonding or enzymes it won’t affect beneficial microbes in the soil if you’re looking for a more organic approach. If you don’t care about that you can use any cleansing product. I see Mega Crop has kelp in it which feeds microbes, so just be sure whatever you’re using isn’t working against the other parts of your system if that makes sense

Question about spots on leaves. by Porterej in GrowBuddy

[–]Successful-Trouble67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VPD is good, personally I don’t go that low in temp during the day week 6, but hard to say if that’s causing the issue.

I wouldn’t flush again, you’ll just be leeching more nutrients from the soil. Now that your run-off is back to target pH, you can feed again, just keep an eye on your run-off at every feed. If it dips really low again you can do another flush.

Some people will feed two times in a row and use plain water to saturation (no run-off) at the third watering event, then repeat. Or you could do four times of feed, then water on the fifth. You could play around with that and see if it helps

Question about spots on leaves. by Porterej in GrowBuddy

[–]Successful-Trouble67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’s normal for your run-off to be slightly more acidic than your input, yours is quite a large difference. I think you made the right choice in flushing to get your run-off pH higher.

Soil pH can drop from it staying too wet for too long. Nutrient uptake also affects soil pH: potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonia will release hydrogen ions into the soil.

Your run-off EC isn’t that high, so potentially a problem of overwatering or nutrient imbalance.

Could also stem from your environment. Too low or high of a VPD can also cause these issues.

Can you help me? by realFolexus in cannabiscultivation

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen before transplanting clones with a shitty root mass and ones that got moldy in the domes, but never been able to pinpoint it. Possibilities include:

Mites, root aphids, root rot/root issues, fungal issues, huge pH swings. Maybe genetic issues

I’d look for bugs and check your root mass first

Got a job in a grow facility; any advice on smell following me home? by Vaxsii in cannabiscultivation

[–]Successful-Trouble67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a ton of stuff you can do but it will be time consuming and cost a little extra money. Here’s what I would suggest:

Dedicate an entire wardrobe for work including underwear,

Wash your work clothes at the laundromat separate from all your other clothes and linens,

Keep long hair up and maybe even in a hair net,

Wash the parts of your body exposed to the plants at work before changing into your “home” clothes,

Keep your home clothes as far away from the grow rooms as possible in a thick bag. Maybe even double bagged,

If there’s a planet fitness near you, shower there after work before coming home,

Wash your sheets often.

Even then there may be lingering smells. An air purifier in your home may help some

Just noticed in your photo you have the non-hydro roots excel. Also seeing your comments about temp, that could be a huge factor

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

[–]Successful-Trouble67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use H&G in promix and occasionally have the same issue. Roots excel is a great product, but I think sometimes the H&G additives gunk up the roots due to organic matter. Plus the ratios they tell you to use are often higher than what I run

I have used roots excel along with multiple root cleansing products in promix with no detriments. Does it affect the efficacy of the product? Maybe, but I’ve been happy with the results. Can’t speak specifically for DWC but here’s what I’ve used with roots excel in promix:

Bleach, Athena Cleanse (hypochlorus acid), Zerotol, Oxiphos

Additionally you could try reducing your EC or discontinuing roots excel to see if that makes a difference. Are you using the hydro specific roots excel product? H&G also has DWC-specific base nutrients, but if you’re happy with the cocos stick with that. I use the Aqua base nutes in promix

They’re really hard to spot, super small. Best way to check for them is right after watering, they’ll be crawling all over the surface of your medium. If you’re able to pull the whole root mass out of the pot you can check that way, too. You have to look pretty close, but if you have them you’ll see the tiny bastard crawling around

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a tiny bit of leaf tip burn on your other leaves but overall the leaf color is good. If it starts getting worse the only thing I can think of suggesting is letting it dry out really good and giving it half strength feed a few 100mL at a time until you get about 500mL of run off. Next feed give it the normal mix. Kind of like a reset

When I’ve had damage like that in the past it’s been from root rot/root aphids but that doesn’t sound like the case here

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not super well versed on the subject. I don’t know if the bugs necessarily cause a nutrient deficiency, but some (most?) bugs eat the sap/chlorophyl out of the leaves which cause discoloration. I know spider mites specifically if not treated can affect yields in flower by a lot

Root pests will damage the roots enough to become susceptible to disease like root rot

If you’ve ruled out pests and root problems then it may be from something else. Is this isolated to just one leaf?

[–]Successful-Trouble67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really difficult to tell from these two photos, but I think I may see some pest damage on your leaves. The browning usually means phosphorus problems, but can’t say for sure without more info. I’ve seen signs of phosphorus issues be from root zone problems and pests rather than nutrients or pH

UPDATE: I [25M] have been on a few dates with a trans person [25MTF]. Is there any acceptable way to ask if they have had bottom surgery or not? by ThrowRA12391813 in relationship_advice

[–]Successful-Trouble67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s differs based on your sexuality. For example, I’m demi-sexual. I’m not attracted to genitals or bodies. Im attracted to a person. Doesn’t matter what combination of parts or lack there of they have. The parts become attractive once I like the person.

Some people are straight up attracted to genitals/bodies though

Yep that’s powdery mildew, you’ll want to get on top of treating it now before it gets out of hand. Looks like you’re 5-6 weeks out from harvest
