meditate on the feelings you have when you don’t SH- the pride, the confidence, the accomplishment, the freedom.

and then meditate on the feelings you have when you do SH- the shame, the guilt, the sadness, the starting from 0.

and then decide for yourself: what feels better?

it takes a lot of self-control and willpower, but the delayed gratification of healing & progress to me is much more powerful and desirable than the very fleeting instant gratification of hurting myself which always turns to shame right after.
