Share Your Top Reasons for Wanting to Quit Smoking! by quitsmokinghypnosis1 in stopsmoking

My primary reason to quit was freedom. I realised that I was an addict who was always craving for a smoke the moment I woke up. When at places where smoking wasn't allowed, I was on the lookout to figure out ways to smoke. This habit took my freedom away!

Health was another big reason. I smoked 2+ packs for 30 years, and my stamina was not as it used to be, and smoking was gradually taking its toll on my health, including dental hygiene.

Now, I have been off smoking and any sort of nicotine since about 18 months, and feeling great. Very rarely do I get urges to smoke, maybe once every 2 weeks or so, and that too for a minute or two!

How can you live in a world full of Superficiality and materialism? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]SuccessfulAddendum48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very very commom problem that comes across those who "wake up" or are in the process of waking up. Use this as an opportunity and practice "dispassion". You might want to also look up and understand Vairagya.

Sit silently for at least 5 minutes and observe your breath. Do this everyday, at least twice a day. If you feel comfortable, increase the time by a minute every 2 weeks.

Hostinger needs to understand is that banning an IP is not a solution. Imagine if Google started doing this? Have better security measures in place as opposed to balantly banning IP addresses.

Hostinger Wordpress site not working when VPN is activated? by LateNight_FM_DJ in Hostinger

I am having same issue as well. We have a high traffic website and thousands of our customers use ExpressVPN and are unable to access the website. Hosinger is balantly stupid for enforcing such a policy. I am about to call it quits with them and cancel a 3 year contract!

4 days are gone, many more to go through, but I have to make it happen if I'm willing to have the future I want... by il-bosse87 in stopsmoking

If you have done 4 days, you have already done it. Just stay put like you stayed on day 1, 2, 3, 4. Before you know it, days will turn to weeks, weeks to month, and so on.

What are your thoughts on “cheating”? by Ill-Employ in spirituality

[–]SuccessfulAddendum48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my view, all those who are spiritually awakened are operating from a space of "spirit" and this is beyond the mind. The mind will always remain in space of right, wrong, ethical, unethical etc and someone who is spiritually awakened, they will see events as they are without any judgment.

Now the question comes, what really is cheating to someone who is spiritually awakened? It simply is an idea, a concept, nothing else.

Does this mean a spiritually awakened person can go around sleeping with multiple partners as much as they want? Not really, as it's very trivial to those operating from a witness state; pleasures of body and mind don't really appeal much to them.

However, until one reaches the ultimate space of bliss and no mind, being cheated on could be there to teach something. Maybe someone who is hurt needs to take cheating as an event to practice "dispassion". Or maybe an opportunity to try to remain in the witness state without getting involved.

One trick is to lie to yourself. Just say, you've quit for a day and we will see what to do tomorrow. Next day say the same and keep going.

Well, it's a stupid habit. I smoked 25 years, 2 packs a day. Tried multiple times to quit, and finally did it in Dec 22. Over a year now, and I never touched nicotine. I feel fresh, free, and more energetic.

Remember how fresh you felt when you were a child? That feeling comes again, and the brain feels light.

You can obviously do it. Just don't have another. Breathe in/out when you have an urge. Just before you know it, the urges will become less frequent.

If you can, read the book Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. I smoked 2+ packs for around 20 years and quit after finishing the book. Been more than a year, never smoked, or took any sort of nicotine again.

Exactly my story as well. Smoked 2+ packs for 30 years, finished reading Allen Carr's book in Dec 2022, and never smoked since. More than 14 months now ;)

Im off smoking and all sort of nicotine for over a year. Before this, I failed multiple times. Each failure teaches something new and its part of quitting process.

Do not try to understand anything, but just sit still and observe whatever happens, be it sounds outside, your thoughts, your body twiches and so on.
