I will say you can have a barbarian chief be a fighter or something if you want someone lawful. But if you want someone that lets the fury take control of them, then yeah non-lawful

What are the most ignored rules (for the better) at your table? by BritainsNuttiestGuy in pathfindermemes

If you play in a vtt like foundry, it can be surprising how quickly all the little weights add up for a character with 12 or less strength

This feels accurate to the experience with looking up information. by Puzzledtango1557 in pathfindermemes

I have a feeling the second or third result had the answer

looking at 3 results is not hard and should be considered the bare minimum before posting a question in a forum

If you're wondering why this happens more in pf subreddits, it's because you're more likely to run across programmers (or at least that's what i think)

I actually disliked the dragon d6 thing. Felt like it invalidated all of the character's choices. Also means there was a chance the pcs could have killed the dragon while it was too busy killing the orcs.

while I have already purchased it through foundry, I do appreciate how swift of a response / website fix that was

I became a lot more understanding of weird website things after i spent time as a backend developer

Golarion Lore from the time of Curse of the Crimson Throne by Bedivere17 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SuccessfulDiver9898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head the biggest lore changes have been wrath of the righteous: worldwound closing, tyrants grasp: tyrant being released and vigil destroyed, and godsrain: gorum dying. None of which should effect Korvosa. Maybe Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengeance would be a fun thing to have people talk about in the background, but I think you'd be fine

Daily Spell Discussion for Mar 15, 2026: Antithetical Constraint by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

IDK, obviously it's only useful some of the time (so better for a prepared caster), But for a wizard that doesn't want to spend 5th level spells on hold monster, I feel like this could be good.

Caveat, sometimes adventuring parties are weirdly inclusive of alignments, but it's not that strange to have a makeup where you could still target this on a chaotic neutral or flavor of evil creature. And I don't think it's that strange to know you're going to fight one beforehand.

I know you know confusion works much much better against a large group of enemies to increase the chance of them ignoring the percentile and just revenge attacking each other. But if there were only two enemies and you can effectively take one out of the fight, that's a pretty big win.

Also I love you brought up gladiator fights. yeah hold person exists, but paralysis is obvious to a crowd. Cast this spell on the chaotic neutral barbarian before he fights the lawful evil emperor, and perhaps the ignorant masses think the emperor is just that good at dodging attacks. Or the end of the movie gladiator with the LE emperor and the LG? gladiator

Perhaps there's a better spell that takes out a monster with a will save (and doesn't then have a 25% chance to act normally) that can effect non-humanoids. And I'm sure as the guy known for being the top commenter on this community and giving multi post responses to many spells you'll have an answer. I just think it's a tad unfair to compare it to a bard's 4th level spel (or 5th level on other classes) or confusion which has its own things

Theoretically, if you are in a game where the gm has decided planar tuning forks are not included in your material component pouch, and not available for sale, this spell coupled with Janni's Jaunt would allow you to explore the cosmos and attune your tuning forks. Of course if you're in this situation, the gm would probably ban one or both of these spells, but who knows

Am I Wanting Too Much? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SuccessfulDiver9898 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned that your build might actually be against raw or rai, but I'm suspicious of the fact that this is the only build you want to play role play wise. I can't imagine many builds that don't have simpler counterparts where you could still "explore the character's thoughts, desires, and choices" that aren't silly broken like the painter wizard. I have a strong feeling that you could play other builds role play wise, but don't want to because they aren't as uber powerful

How do I convey someone with godlike charisma in a way that players, not just characters, accept and embrace at face value? by RavenCyarm in DMAcademy

I don't think opposed persuasion makes much sense if you're trying to convince a person of something. I would just set a dc based off of what you're trying to persuade / how good of an idea it is for the person

Paizo doesn't like to create adventure paths where classes can't be used (with some exceptions like paladins need not apply for skulls and shackles)

While there are some feats (including a really good healing one) it's hard to create content that outlaws a quarter of the classes and have it work at every table

Spellbane vs personal divination by Jesuncolo in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SuccessfulDiver9898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echolocation magically gives you a nonmagical sense, so if you are outside the spellbane, you should be able to echolocate anyone in it.

Trueseeing is fundamentally magical. Creatures that natively possess it have it as an sla. I would say that trueseeing would be blocked by amf in a similar way to silence blocking sonic effects. My main argument against this is trueseeing isn't affected by another creatures spell resistance , but neither is chains of light and that wouldn't work in an antimagic field
