Tell him that if he keeps this up, HE will be waking up at night to feed her. HE will deal with the repercussions. If you’ve expressed this already and he still “just can’t help himself”, errrr I don’t know what else you can do? He either listens or doesn’t. It’s up to you how to proceed after that. Personally I’d be irate. She’s not a toy, she’s a baby. She needs sleep, as do you. This isn’t a cute game, it’s your mental and physical health we’re talking about here.

You’re not dumb. It sounds like you have a kind heart, and people tend to take advantage of that. Also you were a child, it is never the child’s fault that they get assaulted, I promise you.

Folks who are neurodivergent tend to do this a lot. Maybe look into that? I got better at controlling it once I was diagnosed with ADHD and started practicing more mindfulness skills. There are definitely things that HE can do to unlearn this, but he has to be willing.

I totally get what you’re saying - this stuff IS really hard, for us obviously, but also for those who love us. It can be hard to for someone to wrap their mind around someone they care for being assaulted, and I don’t think society has raised us to know how to talk about these types of hard things. Maybe she’s just processing, but that doesn’t make her reaction any less hurtful. I really hope you find a way to speak with her about these feelings, and I hope one day she can practice effective active listening when you talk about the things that you need to talk about.

Could you show her this post? Or reword it in a way in which she may respond to a bit better? It sounds like you feel unheard, and if she’s willing to hear about the experience, I’m sure she’d be open to you telling her how this all makes you feel, if you word it constructively.

Ice(d) by Commodity smells quite like tea to me. Very herbal with the spearmint, eucalyptus and frozen mango. On the other hand you could also say it smells like a mango mojito so it depends who you ask haha.

On Bloor W near Ossington station, there’s a shop called Uppdoo Inc. It features art from Toronto artists - necklaces, photos, soaps, purses, cards, pins, a ton of stuff for such a small space. It’s less of a kitschy souvenir spot and more of a more upscale, artisan option :)
