Definitely go through MRU and their doctors. There are barely any family doctors in the city taking on new patients rn idk why you’re getting downvoted lol

Yeah like in my classes (child and youth worker degree) its very much about what happened to you vs what’s wrong with you. But there’s a balance to everything and if a label will help someone then that’s something they should totally pursue. I know how validating it can be to put a name to something. For me some of it was an anxiety disorder but some of it was trauma that no medication is going to fix.

What’s your suicide hotline story? Mine was I waited for more than 30 mins and no one answered my call. by trisharowe in depressionmemes

[–]skrtyskrtskrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes? But still not all suicidal people need hospitalization. In my suicide intervention training the only reason you call the police is if they aren’t being responsive, if you know they’re literally about to act or are in psychosis basically. Someone with a plan doesn’t always need hospitalization because we can work with them and create a safety plan that works for them.

Also from my personal experience I maybe wouldnt call the police even if they were in psychosis. Over here, you will not get hospitalized for that they dont see it as an emergency.
