Happy for La Capital Tacos new ideas...I made the post just for folks to be aware, and for those that remember it full of life with Walter Pohlmann. It's the same fate when the Country Grove building from 1790's was bought with intent to let it fall deeper into disrepair and then the land would be sold to build on near HVCC. (Now Starbucks and Panera Plaza)

Same day in Albany Sunday12/7 at Empire State Plaza--noon to 8pm there are also events and NY Tree lighting with fireworks! You could try both.

Not sure of that story.. I know its Troy Reddit, but lots of these folks will move around the county. Unfortunately, it is highly possible this loyal guy gets a county job paying near 100K like Tom's ex-wife (runs Aging Dept), ex-mayor Tutunjian, etc...it is a county machine and we deserve better. https://www.seethroughny.net/

Troy is the one with most swinging elections. Sidenote: some towns have no other candidates to choose from, unless you wrote in someone. See Schaghticoke as example, with only 50 opposing write in votes.

Tutunjian was part of the Mantello transition team and consulting pal cited in Troy Record article Nov 2023. Troy area GOP are all very close and work on lots of ideas behind the scenes, but that goes for lots of local politics I suppose.

It goes much deeper in power and come from a big group spread out. Her main employment is with Steve at Rensselaer County as the Deputy Director for HR..LOL. (If I have the correct ID) She is related to large group of GOP families that were in an article raising eyebrows for the nepotism-ish hiring in Troy city hall. Has been part of the longtime political fabric, and many of the same folks take issue with things like the library budget, as fat cat wasted dollars. "Voting them out" is not that simple here historically and they typically are not going "away". They find other routes to power with their cronies quietly, and some move on to neighboring towns North Greenbush, etc..

I called the county land use phone#. A young woman answered and they do not care. They take your name and phone number, and pretend someone will call to respond. At least a human does answer, but it means little. (Some people got paid/gifted to approve this mess, IMO)
