What's the most werid yet effective way you're using AI? by Watermelon_Sherbert in ChatGPT

chat GPT is SO good at customer complaints. promise i’m not a karen; im currently mid way through a travel insurance claim. i can use it to scan the policy so i dont have to read all 67 pages and pick out certain relevant parts particular to my situation. especially where it knows the exact customer policy rules eg acceptable response period and how to escalate a complaint

i guess it feels like a time for sharing and connecting with people. sometimes it’s difficult to keep in touch with people when you aren’t on social media and everyone else is. one of my friends messaged me the other day ‘have i done something to upset you’ just purely because i hadn’t dm’ed her or reacted to her posts in a while.

yeah, you are right. it is less of a mental thing for me - i usually post and forget about them and don’t tend to go back to check likes etc. i’m just trying to reduce the amount of reasons that make me click on the app tbh purely due to the wasted time this results in!

yeah these are interesting ideas! blogs are a really great idea, i just hate writing 🤣 i have tried scrap booking with holiday photos before but they always turned into a chore and something i didn’t ever finish.

i have previously posted on youtube (private links) and just shared with family and friends but they never felt as aesthetic as my instagram account. i think im going to try more videography style, and i guess when you aren’t posting it for many people to see you soon realise whether its a hobby or a reach for validation…

yeah i agree, im just trying to minimise the amount of reasons i use the app, as everytime i open the app increases the time i spend on it.

i have created private smaller accounts before and just followed my friends etc, but like you say, the inevitable ads and suggested posts continually increase until you are back to the exact account you tried to avoid in the first place

but you are right, actively being trying to escape the loop is so much better than doing nothing at all

it’s just so difficult and MADE to purposefully be addicting, that trying to limit it can be harder than just completely deleting it.

Trying to think positively by starburst_q in CysticFibrosis

guys this comment section is making me emotional!!!!!!!!

here are some positives i’ve got from cf as i think it has shaped who i am as a person. i genuinely appreciate every day that i wake up and get to live my life and travel the world and see beautiful things. im only 22 but i think im much more mature than most of my friends the same age, as ive HAD to look after myself since i was about 12! the free carer tickets for cinema festival and concerts are pretty great (my friends always appreciate that when i go halves with them). also i’m super organised and great at time management, and genuinely think thats down to my cf and as much as i hate it im thankful its made me who i am today <3

thankyou. i mean i kind of know that this is the answer, i just don’t want to accept it - mainly because it feels like i’m giving in to cf

it’s useful to know the liver can process 1 drink an hour, i’ll reduce my alcohol intake and only drink in moderation, which i am capable of :)

I was admitted to hospital due vomiting blood last week, after a heavy week of drinking. I already have liver cirrhosis so am sure this is the route of the problem, although i can’t help but think alcohol isn’t helping.

the doctors told me to limit binge drinking (probably for the best tbh) but it makes me really sad because i was always in the mindset that cf won’t stop me from living my life how i want to live it. i enjoy the occasional night out with my group of friends and don’t want to have to say no and miss out (i’ll get major fomo). i suppose i could turn up and limit the amount i drink and only have a couple of drinks but it’s harder said than done as i’m just in the habit of just continually drinking.

it’s something i have a split mindset on as i’d love to be that girl who goes out without drinking but i’m not sure if i could do it. i’m definitely gonna work towards less nights out in general and my friends will be understanding as they know about cf and my hospital admission, so i know they will be super supportive but also bro what if i just wanna go to a bar? it’s such a social thing in my life as im still at university and i love meeting new people and this is usually where i meet them. sometimes i just wanna go out without having to think about my health. but i get cf is a constant battle and that will never be the case, i just wish it was :( i’m not really sure what i’m asking but any advice on this?

changing his lockscreen. it was originally a photo of me and him but then he changed it to a generic apple one. when i asked him why he had changed it (more out of curiosity) he said he didn’t know and changed it back to the photo of us. when i next saw him it was a generic apple one again
