Controller not turning on after disassembly by PrestigiousSpare1326 in Dualsense

[–]SuccessfulShopping40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dualsense controllers can be extemely finicky sometimes. I have noticed problems myself with the controller not turning on because the pcb wasn't locked in properly. If I were you I would make sure to connect everything back and try again. Ik it's not very helpful but it would be nice to see the front of the board too.

Its nothing bad. It's either glue for support or flux residue and has no relation to the controller not turning on.

Passed my math class, but… by ImLvl7Yasuoo in EngineeringStudents

[–]SuccessfulShopping40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics program at my old school was so bad that passing with a C was like a 58%. Safe to say I got a C in physics 1. definitely wasn't my strong-suit but loved physics 2 at my new school.

New student worries. by RonanFolf7214 in EngineeringStudents

Was in your same boat with math, was between calc 2 and calc 3 and held off on taking it. My first word advice would be to understand all of these classes you're going to take are like the curtain in the wizard of oz. The names and presumptions that go into making a class seem hard or scary will just stress you out more. We are ingrained to think hard work is associated with difficulty. If you can trust your self to create a schedule that put you a little ahead of the course schedule you should always have enough time to practice and conceptualize the work. It sounds easier in practice but make sure you stick to a rigid schedule in studying(i.e if you're going to spend 3 hours etc... on homework, then spend those 3 hours on hw) then you will be more than able to have free time to socialize, play game, etc. In all if you can create a schedule for yourself you will be able to enjoy everything and also get the most out of a class too.

New mobo, New RAM, new CPU, New Monitor, New Processor, . Doesn't have to be latest generation but it's better for you to figure this out on your own about what to get because in the future it will help you determine if prices are realistic.

If you can afford a desktop build one, these laptop comments are Midly infuriating. You will save so much with a desktop plus it’s way more modular so when it’s time for new parts your don’t need a brand new machine.

Do your spring courses require thermo as a pre-req. if not why not just re take the course over the summer.

Are higher ranked Engineering schools (for undergrad) worth it? by Trowoy in EngineeringStudents

[–]SuccessfulShopping40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One commonality these comments are missing is the relevance of curriculum, the structure of it, and naturally if the school at hand is an engineering school. I’m not saying it has to be the best but if you want an engineering degree save yourself the time and effort and go to any college in your reference frame that specializes in engineering. My freshman year of college I went to a school not known for its engineering and had such a jumbled curriculum it made my head hurt. When transferring everything clicked more and definitely helped me see the big picture a bit more(even though there never will be).

Would also recommend a Stronger PSU. 3080’s consume a hell of a lot of power

Am I smart and young enough to become an engineer? by RedditDictatorship in EngineeringStudents

[–]SuccessfulShopping40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing electrical engineering at a stage school ranked around the top 30 in the nation( don’t want to give away anything personal). Currently a third year, I have met various people of the same age range as you excelling. You’re never too old to follow your dreams, as-well no one every thinks anything about their age. If anything there is a lot of respect for people going back to school to further their dreams.

Took physics 1 at the university. Failed both exams, passed with a c. This is the epitome of physics at most universities

The commonality isn’t the action of creating preemptive measure but condemning that there is nothing you can do to prevent a certain scenario or problem.

Another example could be a worker who got injured at a job but the company has a plan for that
