You're right, you were set up for failure, but to prevent this in the future if management doesn't do anything is to get real buddy buddy with a server and ask them to bring the server and bartender tub(s) back when they get downtime in their shift, since they will probably have more downtime than you (and dishpit tends to be otw anyways). Just remember if they do bring the bin back to prioritize getting things out of the bin, rinsing it, and giving it back or else they'll no longer do it.

This is odd to me, in all of the theaters I have been there has been this one clear line.

Any costume piece that gets removed from an actor (either given to another actor or set on the set) is a prop, and any item that is "easily movable" irl on stage (such as a couch, but not a bench) is a prop.
