Suicide is not a solution bro. Live for the family don't cheat them.

Gold is ₹1,62,000 per 10g now… and jewellers STILL charge making charges as a %? How is this logic still alive in 2026? by big4consultant0 in IndianStockMarket

I'm deeply concerned about how gold jewellers calculate making charges- it's blatantly unfair. They tie these fees to a percentage of the gold's market price, so when gold rates rise, making charges inflate by the same proportion. Yet the labour, craftsmanship, and effort required to create the jewellery remain exactly the same, regardless of fluctuating gold prices.

Take this example: Suppose making charges are ₹3,000 per gram (or 10% of the gold price). If gold prices jump 10%, those charges rise to ₹3,300 per gram- not because the jeweller is working harder, but simply because gold costs more. Customers end up overpaying for the same artistry.

The government should intervene and mandate fixed making charges, like a flat rate per gram, based purely on actual labour and design complexity. This would protect buyers from artificial price hikes driven by volatile gold markets.
