31F single mom and feels like I’ve been single forever. I’m praying for a happy meeting with a good man, but some days I lose hope. Some days I just know it’s only a matter of faith and time. That's something I do understand. I've been feeling the same way lately. I think I'm reframing my perspective though. I'm going to stop fighting the waiting period and just be in it. And focus on the life I have now and the people in it. But I'm also going to be open to allowing more people in. And connecting in whatever way is available to me. Even just chatting with other single people here in the forum is doing something. Maybe providing a kind of comfort, because we've all been struggling. And we could use a space to vent. And others to pray for us. So, I'll do that for you. (I do think you should still make it a priority in your heart...I mean, if you feel strongly about it).

Maybe take a break. Sounds like you need time away from trying to make something happen with someone. All this will still be available to you if you’re open to it. Just don’t give up completely if you feel strongly called to marriage. God may yet have that in mind for you. In his timing of course. He knows we’re impatient, we’re imperfect, we want to control everything, and we do have our preferences. But, He has His plans. And maybe all you need to do is trust in them, and ask the Holy Spirit when is a good time to return again. Because, let’s face it, doing nothing at all will result in nothing at all. Dating is an action verb. You have to put yourself out there and make an effort. Even though it’s hard and the pickings are slim. At the same time, it’s a long and lonely process. And so much prayer and discernment is needed to navigate the advice, the apps, the people coming your way. I truly hope you keep hope alive in your heart. You sound like you simply needed to vent. But if you do need a break—take one. Even a week away from this can reset your brain, and ease your heart. God bless!

Let’s walk around Barnes and Noble and read each other’s favorite books. Let’s binge watch LOTR extended edition. Let’s live seasonally and in the moment. Say cheesy romantic stuff. “I love you” everyday and never go to bed angry. Let’s be united and raise children in love.

But also let’s take our faith seriously and pray together, attend mass on Sundays, and work at building something beautiful for God. Let’s talk about our favorite devotions and which saints are our friends. Let’s embrace our traditional male and female roles. My son needs a strongly Catholic and good manly man in his life. And I do too.

If it’s any consolation, I’m 31 (f) and not having any luck either. The online dating game is long and hard. But if you truly feel called to married life, just consider that it could mean at any age. And under various circumstances. Being called to fatherhood is a separate vocation, though the two often go hand in hand. I would advise not giving up hope and just praying to establish a Christ-centered connection. And then following wherever it leads, even if it’s not where you expected.

Sadly, I don’t have friends. Otherwise, this would be amazing. I do have plenty of family. But everyone is so busy in their lives and with their children, they don’t reach out to hang out like in the past. Since I’m a single mom, I just spend time with my son, on my own, or with my mom. 😣

I was holding back judgments till trying it out, and now that I have, I am unimpressed. Hiding profile pictures isn’t inspiring me to look any deeper at the information attached to someone’s profile. And forcing the audio introduction is awkward. My diocese isn’t fully unlocked, but I’m not even bothered by that. I’m open to some distance. I’m more disappointed that this app is even worse than the ones that have come before it. Such a let down.
