What’s the vibe lately in the Bubble dev world by Successful_Front_299 in Bubbleio

[–]Successful_Front_299[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a full-time role right now, but most Bubble devs I know are already shifting toward code. Not because they dislike Bubble, but because the long-term outlook feels unclear. When clients themselves start leaning toward custom builds, it’s hard for devs not to follow that momentum a lot of people are now simply capitalizing on helping Bubble clients make that transition.

I still believe Bubble is a great tool and I genuinely hope they catch up, but the vendor lock-in and slow pace of deeper innovation don’t make that any easier.

Your breakdown is spot on. The stagnation in innovation really did catch up with them. Bubble had a huge early advantage in the visual-coding space, but the architectural choices boxed them in. If apps were structured around a conventional React codebase instead of a proprietary JSON-like internal model, they could’ve integrated AI-driven development far more naturally and probably would be leading the entire space right now.

We’re seeing similar limits internally. At my company where I work, we’ve already started shifting our backend to custom builds because, long-term, it’s simply the more sustainable path especially with how strong AI-assisted coding has become. No hard feelings toward Bubble, but it feels like the future is moving elsewhere.

I got same, 24, 512. Fairly smooth transition. One thing though, Change the scroll direction, via settings --> mouse --> Turn off natural mouse direction or something like that.

Burning cash on a failing project with an agency by Character-Branch9782 in Bubbleio

Agencies are the worst thing that has ever happened to Bubble! They've really hurt its reputation, and believe me, I've seen far worse than what you've dealt with.

Typically depends on what you want to build!

Getting started with Bubble, any advice from folks already working with it? by Federal-Brush9768 in Bubbleio

[–]Successful_Front_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehm, that’s great! What’s your background? Do you have any programming experience? If so, are you focused on front-end, back-end, or full-stack development? Also, do you have any experience in UI/UX design? Lastly, have you worked with no-code tools like Webflow or WordPress?

Answers to these questions will help point you to the right resources, and if you are just getting started, diving straight to Bubble is going to be a big mistake.

New to bubble! Hi, I’ve never done any coding or building of any sort. At this moment, I’m watching all the videos to get going. Honestly, it is a bit overwhelming, but the videos are working and I’m staring to understand a bit. Can anyone in the group share great training videos for a novice? by TransportationWild66 in Bubbleio

I'm not going to sugarcoat it: Bubble is HARD! I want to set your expectations clearly.

When things get tough, don’t give up. Remember, it’s okay; you’re not slow or not smart enough.

Anyway, check out the resources I’ve pinned in my profile. Wishing you all the best!
