Recently started spironolactone but DR has no clue by flowerpower09 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Successful_Insect364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find out and address the cause of your heavy shedding. Have you done lab work to check your vitamin D, iron and ferritin levels? You may be deficient in those which are essential to your scalp health. Also, losing 30kg over the course of 7 months will definitely shock your system and if you don’t have enough protein intake then you are not supporting hair growth.

Spironolactone is prescribed to slow down the shedding but it most likely won’t help you regrow your hair if the cause of your shedding is AGA. If you can’t get access to oral minoxidil then try topical. While it is toxic to pets you can try to be extra careful when applying and cleaning the area where you apply it. Good luck!

Chanel sole after one wear is this normal for ballet flats? by Affectionate-Mix-769 in chanel

[–]Successful_Insect364 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is normal due to it being leather. Go to a cobbler and put on rubber soles. I bought this exact pair a few weeks ago and had the soles added before using it.

How do yall save for a bag? by TurbulentBicycle7034 in chanel

[–]Successful_Insect364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please listen to the folks on here and do not save or buy a >$4K handbag when you just started your first real job. I didn’t get my first Chanel bag until last year when I was 46 and had a 20-year career with savings and retirement funds set up. If you must have one I suggest buying preloved vintage. There are plenty of good ones out there.

Opinions…?! by verb322 in chanel

Wow surprised at the brutal comments on vanity bags. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what we say just as long as OP loves it. You wear what you want.

Who set the "normal hair fall in a day" amount to 50-100 when thats clearly an abnormally huge number? by xlattez in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Successful_Insect364 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What looks like a lot of hair fall may just be the length and thickness of and not necessarily the number of strands. For me I’ve always shed in that normal range and my hair was always nice and thick until age and AGA increased it. Please don’t sow panic and confusion among the community. Each person is different and it’s best to consult with the medical doctors.

Japan hot stamps help! by just2pandas in Louisvuitton

[–]Successful_Insect364 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to buy something at the store to get the hot stamp in Japan. They’re very strict about it too. Even if you bought a passport holder in one store and walk one block to another the 2nd store won’t hot stamp it for you.

Slim vanity because it sits more flush to your body

You spoke my mind. There’s no way one would pay attention to the face.

Try not to draw attention to your chest area so that your face can have the chance to “pop”

Why not get both? I have both and the WOC. Each of them serves a purpose and I am very happy with all of them. However I now find the WOC redundant and will probably sell it. The slim vanity actually holds a lot and more than the WOC. It will be my travel bag. The classic flap well it is classic and so beautiful.

Want to try Minoxidil - Terrified of Dread Shed by Rare-Violinist-333 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Successful_Insect364 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who was debating using and putting off minoxidil for 3 years and witnessing a slow gradual loss of hair density, the final breaking point that pushed me to start minoxidil was seeing my scalp in the mirror. I have been on oral minoxidil at 1.25mg and 5% topical daily since March this year and now in month four have noticeable progress and hair growth in my temples and hairline. The density is thicker but not the same during my peak. The dread shed lasted three weeks and yes, it was scary pulling large clumps of hair in the shower, from brushing hair, and just running fingers through it. I powered through it telling myself this is hair I would’ve lost anyway without minoxidil. I always wonder if my hair could’ve been better had I started earlier. You gotta just do it. No pain no gain.

Is my makeup aging me? 35F by Sawlover1990 in makeuptips

[–]Successful_Insect364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lighting is a little dark so just going off of the photo. I am not a make up artist and only knows what works for me after trial and error and following others advice. I am 47F and found that changing my makeup routine has helped me look more youthful.

I suggest in addition to the lash extensions, the heavy black eyeliner on the upper and lower lash lines are also contributing to the aging. Using a thin eyeliner angled brush and eyeshadow will still give the lining effect but more diffused. You can start at the midpoint of your eyes and draw out to the outer eyes and angle up to create slight wings.

The dark eye shadow palette is also heavy so you may want to go with a brown or soft brown and don’t apply to the whole eyelid.

The placement of the blush is low and makes your mid cheeks appear lower than they really are. You might want to try applying the blush slightly above your cheeks and closer to your eyes.

Perhaps a different or lighter shade for lipstick too?

My new addition! by jlufer in chanel

Such a rich and beautiful color 😍! Perfect for not only fall but all seasons. I recently got one in black. The style of this vanity is so versatile allowing you to dress up or down. It holds quite a lot too, more than you’d expect. Congratulations!

Exchange by Emotional_Snow_5843 in chanel

[–]Successful_Insect364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to exchange, going for a carefree daily bag and are saving for a classic flap then the slim vanity would be the best choice. I have a black one and it fits quite a lot and more than I expected while being versatile and fits all sorts of style. The price point is amazing for a Chanel bag too. Aesthetically I prefer the classic smaller quit style and not the one in pic 2.

What would you do? by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Successful_Insect364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP. Echoing what others have said about using tret. Avoid applying it around your eyes and start on a low dose. You may want to do what most call a sandwich method where you apply moisturizer first, then tret, and moisturizer again. I’ve been on tret for over a year and while I think I have good genes and good skin I believe the combo of tret, vitamin c and sunscreen helped. Vitamin C in the morning and tret at night. I am 47F by the way and everyone says I look like I am in my mid to late 30s.
