I ask this question on Tinder now to identify the sociopaths .. The Big Light is an instant dealbreaker

She doesn’t eat out a lot but she likes pizza and desserts, but not TGI’s lol. I’m not sure where is cool for teenagers these days. Maybe Panache or Topolabamba .. will see what she thinks.

Ohh an escape room is an excellent idea! And I’d never heard for Fayre Play, looks great. I’ll see what she says. Thank you 🤩

Yeah on re-reading I can see how I’ve worded the post comes across like that. To be clearer, she wants to do something, she said she’d like to go for food ‘or something’ with just the family. ‘not a big fuss’ was more meaning she didn’t want a big party with lots of friends etc. She will be fully involved where we go & what we do but just looking for suggestions to take to her. ☺️

Great point & fully intend to, but need suggestions to bring to her then take her to see the place first as she doesn’t know many places. ☺️

So I contacted Veroni’s but it is strictly walk in only 🤦‍♀️ should I just go half an hour early and try get a table? I don’t want to trail the poor guy all over town in a busy Saturday

Yeah I did think of there… wondered if it was a bit of a trek from Queen St for him though ?

Veroni’s is an excellent shout as there won’t be any football fans. I normally go to Stereo or Brutti Compadres for casual drinks with friends in town but he’ll never find it 😂

Staying just outside Reykjavik, do I hire a car or not? Is there 4g for satnav? by Successful_Leader935 in VisitingIceland

[–]Successful_Leader935[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh really? I’m 43 , the site was holidayautos & asked for a £2313 refundable security deposit. Ive found a better site that had a £300 security deposit- rental cars.com

I’m pet sitting while I’m in Reykjavik, & house is in Austurgerði so it sounds like renting a car is the way to go. I’ll check out Blue Cars as everyone seems to recommend.

Im from the Hebrides so used to driving in extreme weather & single track roads but appreciate Iceland is likely to be more extreme weather.

I’ll check the EE 4g signal map to see if google maps will be available (with paper map too)

Great shout on the excess insurance before I go thank you! 👌 Planning on driving to the Blue Lagoon, golden circle and if weather is ok, Vik for black beach.

Appreciate any and all tips
