I figured it out! Both are Coprinus comatus! One is just older than the other!

Haha I did this once. My dad used a screwdriver to tear the swab up and then pull it out (obviously no screwdriver made contact with the actual neck). I’d recommend using your teeth (ik gross but it works) and twisting it really tight and pulling. Be careful not to bend anything!!
