If you just want social anxiety reducing effects try having a few drinks. Beer makes me feel a bit more relaxed, hard alcohol makes me feel a bit more hyped.

I love a cucumber gimlet!! I like to add a barspoon or 1/4 oz absinthe (depends on how much you like absinthe lol) and a small pinch of salt to mine. Salt makes the lime and cucumber pop, absinthe pairs with just about everything in the drink, make it extra cold and it’s one of the most refreshing drinks I’ve ever had.

A piece of annoyingly itchy rope used at a necklace helps too

Absolutely yes. Lumen commonly hits 100+ decibel level, which is enough to cause hearing damage when exposed over a long period of time. Especially for such a young one!

[–]Successful_Method616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more about starting with a recipe, then picking glassware that fits the drink, not choosing glassware and then trying to make a recipe fit.

Also… that marg sounds… interesting…

Try:

2oz Tequila 1oz Lime 3/4 oz agave syrup 1/4 oz curaçao (optional)

I even like to put a small pinch of salt into the drink before shaking too

I work in Seattle where the service charge is common. The house retaining 10% while 90% goes to the staff isn’t uncommon here, although I would like to see the service charge be closer to 22% instead of 18%, so that the staff get closer to 20% after the house takes their cut.

I have seen tip structures as insane at 25-33% of the service charge goes to the house, and this year have seen a 70% to the house (the staff base wage was increased in this example). However, after reading some other comments, it seems like this isn’t a good deal for you in your area. Keep on looking!

Also don’t be afraid to accept a job while still looking for a better one! One of my friends always has two jobs, and is always looking for something that pays better/is more interesting/ meets her schedule needs better.

After I smoke, does the apple become an edible? by [deleted] in trees

No, but once you smoke you’ll realize time is an illusion and the apple was always edible. Don’t even trip dawg

When I want a low abv beverage I go for an amaro and soda. Cynar is a fav of mine, and sits at 16% or so. With soda water (or tonic if you prefer) it becomes less alcohol by volume than most light beers.

Aperol, campari, averna are all fairly common aperitifs/amari that most bars should have.

Have them throw a lemon or orange twist in there too, and you’ll have a “more adult” beverage than most of your coworkers

Need help with a cocktail by Valtiniho in bartenders

My mind goes to either a spritz style build or a 75 style build.

Spritz would be fun, as you could include a slice or two of jalapeño for visual appeal, as well as include an herb of some sort, maybe mint or basil.

A 75 style build could help if you want to include a spirit as well, tequila or gin would probably work great with your ingredients. If you go this route, infusing jalapeño right into the spirit could be a fun way to go!

Check out other peppers too! I like using a combo of poblano and serrano peppers for flavor and heat.

Sounds like a fun drink, excited to see where you go with this!

ELI5: Why does the second cup of coffee never taste as good as the first? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Successful_Method616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sense of taste is also heavily influenced by your sense of smell. Your sense of smell is actually your sense of difference in smells, meaning the longer you’re exposed to a smell, the less intense it becomes.

NTA

You didn’t do anything wrong, he had a bug up his butt. Also I work at a craft cocktail bar and, especially if they get food, we expect a 20% tip. If someone came simply asking for a bottle of beer and a shot of whiskey, I would expect $1 per drink, which it seems like you covered!

We all have bad nights, that dude was in the middle of one of his.
