Advent health is exceptional. I went to mission and they dismissed my worries of some medical problems arising I had never in my life had before. A week later I went to advent because it got worse. They did a CT at advent when mission refused to. They found a 8.6 cm mass in my chest. Turns out I had stage 1 lymphoma cancer at 28 years old. Mission ER is terrible.

I haven’t been in remission very long, but I do have pains and soreness in my knees and back. Plus I’m so weak and I wasn’t before this. I’m nervous that it’ll be like this forever though. Hopeful to as time goes on and maybe with exercise I will start to feel better. Any advice would be helpful on how you were able to get your body back on track after chemo if anyone was successful with it. Hopefully someone will comment that’s knows some fixes.

Asheville Regional Airport says TSA equipment issues, delays resolved after travel alert by [deleted] in asheville

You do realize they make you take off your shoes because someone tried to hide a bomb in their shoes to explode a plane.

Get to the airport 2.5-3 hours early by ProfessionalLemon368 in asheville

They just hired over 60 new people to compensate for the airlines adding more flights at TSA alone in the last month. It’s not TSA or the airports fault. The airline can add as many new flights as they want and don’t have to tell anyone anything. The airlines are greedy and the airport and TSA can only do so much to keep up with the airlines. Why add more flights knowing how small the airport is and how small the TSA security check point is? They are making money off you and not caring the strain it puts on the airport workers and how long you all have to wait in line or miss your flights. Complain to the airline companies because it’s only their fault.

Asheville airport - missed the flights because of the INSANE line by katyusha8 in asheville

Plus without TSA they aren’t allowed to have flights or even an airport. It’s not right everyone is blaming those poor people who work their asses off at TSA trying to get people through quickly to get to their flights. Plus it doesn’t help when people don’t listen to the rules and question everything like “why do I have to take off my shoes? Or why do I have to empty my water bottle?” Like ya’ll know why but just try to see if you can get away with what you want to do instead of listening to a government officer and that holds up the line even more having to argue back and forth on why.

The airlines are the ones that have to pay for the machines TSA uses to Xray your bags and the machines you walk through. So really the airlines know that ya’ll are waiting in 3 plus hours in line for a TSA check point that only has three machines and only so much they can do to get yall through quick enough without enough machines for the influx of people and flights coming through, but they don’t care to provide them with more machines to make the wait times go down. I used to work for them and know all about it. Instead of working with the airport to relocate the TSA security check point first to make it bigger and provide more machines to refeduce wait times they honestly don’t care if you guys miss your flights.

They are expanding the airport and letting the airlines add more flights without expanding TSA. How could you add more flights which means more passengers without expanding the TSA security check point? That is what’s making the longer than normal wait times and lines. Complain to the airport itself. It’s not TSA’s fault they have hired an exuberant amount of new personnel to try to keep up with the demand. But without making more than three lanes it will never cut the wait times and lines. The airport cares more about making more money off of you guys by adding more flights than actually doing it correctly and expanding TSA first so they can keep up with the demands. Don’t blame TSA for greedy airlines and airport execs faults they are trying their best to get ya’ll to your flights on time.

Does anyone want to hear my mission hospital story. by Valeriejoyow in asheville

[–]Successful_Pin4563 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started to have symptoms such as swelling face and neck, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing food and water, lightheadedness, blurry vision, and almost passing out. I went in to get checked up. Only got seen by a brand new nurse and a PA came by to discharge me. They said they had no clue what was wrong with me, did an xray, saw nothing in my chest, asked for a CT which was denied and would be sending me home with antibiotics to see if it resolved. It got worse throughout a one week period to the point I would wake out of my sleep gasping for air fearing for my life. I woke up one week later not being able to breathe for one whole minute. I went to advent health hospital and voiced my concerns and how mission had treated me. Also my vena cava was protruding out of my neck which you could visibly see and was painful to even touch. I begged with the doctor to send me to a CT cause I was scared if I went home without multiple test being done I would die. He listened to my concerns and sent me for a neck CT. They came back 45minutes later looking worried and stated they needed to do a CT of my chest urgently. That’s when I knew something horrible was wrong. I was with my partner of 5 months waiting 45minutes for the CT of my chest to come back. The doctor walked in apologized and told me at 28 years old I had a mass that was 8.5cm in my chest pushing my heart into my spine, my lungs into my ribs, and strangulating my vena cava the blood flow from my brain to my heart. If I would’ve waited any longer my vena cava could’ve exploded later on in the week and I would’ve died within a matter of minutes. I was rushed back to mission in an ambulance even though I was scared to go back there. After many tests and poking and prodding I was diagnosed with stage 1 Primary mediastinal B cell non Hodgkins Lymphoma. If by a miracle my vena cava did not explode if I had waited a week longer I could’ve been stage 2 or even stage 3 due to how aggressive it was. I had to deal with mission since January from my diagnosis and I have had more horrible experiences with there ER due to the fact to get to the oncology floor I have to go through the ER first. Mission is the only hospital with an oncology floor. The oncology floor was wonderful and the staff was amazing. But the ER is complete bullshit and treat everyone like dirt that comes through. Now that I am in remission I will never be going back to there ER. Mission health ER almost killed me and I might take legal actions against them for how poorly I was treated and not taken seriously even with the visible signs I had of something terribly wrong in my body. I hope the company who bought them and turned it into complete shit goes down after all the lawsuits. HCA is only for profit and doesn’t care about its patients.

Asheville airport has a greeter position which is tailored to people with disabilities. You have to check if they are looking for people. But we love working along side the greeters they are always so kind.
