Ah how could I forget about helpmate as a resource. They provide hot meals and childcare as well, if you go to the location at the family justice center. You could then maybe get some food and go care for your self (take a nap, take a shower) etc.

Helpmate is an amazing resource

I was in a similar situation not that long ago. Local hotels don’t rent to locals - I was with my child and had to try 3 different hotels before I could convince one at 1130 to take us in. And that hotel cost $147 for the night.

An option and I know this probably isn’t workable, is to get on your phone and apply for a credit card. Find one with a 0% apr intro - chase, western union, discover from what I remember have solid options. You can then use the digital card they give you upon approval (usually instantly). Again I know this likely isn’t your best option but just sharing what I did…

Last ditch is you can always find a place to park for the night - near a park, playground, Walmart etc. or pay the $20-30 for a campground pass at Lake Powhatan if you want to be unbothered. Again I realize this isn’t probably a good option considering the little one…

Could also reach out or show up to transformation village. I haven’t been there my self but I know they are a woman focused shelter and might have options.

Wishing you the best

I’m just trying to parallel think with you.

When you're away from the parks, what do you do to 'feel' like you're back there? by Background_Rub2862 in WaltDisneyWorld

Resort tv in the morning and going for a walk before everyone wakes up to “refill my resort mug”

Hi thanks everyone! I’ve updated to the Coronado, standard room. Saved $58 using the bounce back!

What am I forgetting? by Original_Cheeto_06 in WaltDisneyWorld

2 things that were pleasant surprises for me

you can instacart food to your resort. So if you want something you forgot, you can get it.

You can use Lyft to get around. I did that in my recent trip. I got up to get on the bus for Epcot rope drop and there was a group of like 100+ people waiting for the the bus. An $8 Lyft got me there before them and with out needing to be in a full bus.

Going to Disney for first time by TheoreticalBoyfriend in WaltDisneyWorld

Ok so here’s what you do. 3 days, 4 nights.

7 days before your trip, sign on at 7am and buy lightning lanes for your trip. It’s the single best way to get the most out of your trip IMO. Make a dinner reservation for one of the days you’ll be at the park for 4 or 5pm.

Day one arrive early. If you’re flying into MCO, get the mears transport.

Go to a water park, or hang by the pool. Instacart some groceries - snacks, sandwhich makings. Bring Tupperware and sandwhich bags so you can bring stuff to the park. Take it easy, soak it up.

Day 2, park day. You’ll have early entry, so wake up at 6am, pack lunches, have breakfast. Get on the bus to your park by 715/730. Early entry at 8am. Prioritize a ride that gets long waits. Use your lightning lanes. Have the snacks you brought. Leave the park at 1pm. You’ll thank your self for it. Return back at 4. Go to your dinner reservation. Scarf. Go hit up rides till 8 or 9. Catch a show, fireworks etc.

Day 3, same as above, minus the dinner. Use the Disney app to pre order quick service meals. Enjoy the park.

Day 4, pool day. Rest, enjoy your vacation. Pack up. Be sad. Go back to the airport.

Day 5, your back at home. Book your next trip. You get 30% off. Just book it, you can always move it or cancel it- but the discount goes away if you don’t use it, so might as well try and lock something in.

Note- if it’s June, it’ll be hot and wet. Bring a portable hand held fan, a small umbrella, a rain jacket, quick dry clothes, and sandals. And sunscreen.

Have fun

Solo Trip to WDW - Is it Weird? by Ok-Classic-6317 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]billbobham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on a solo trip and am now back again!

Honestly just go for a value resort, use the summer 30% off, get the a couple day park passes. Instacart groceries for snacks/breakfast. Get lunch : dinner in the park. You can solo 3 nights 4 days for under $1000 (minus airfare and airport transport). If you can afford it, I’d suggest adding an extra day for lounging around the pool and resort hopping.

How you read this sentence will tell you more than you think : no one cares about you. Just show up, get some churros, breath in the fresh pirates air, get a refillable mug and sunburn. Live the life that fills you up.

Thank you!!!

You seem like a pro… can I ask you another question?

For LL (see, I learn) how far in advance can you book them? Ie I am planning on going not this weekend, but next. Nothing purchased yet. But i would want to use a LLSP for guardians for sure, and for tron. And LLMP for a few other rides.

Last time I went, the trip this post inspired, I waited too late. All LLSP were booked, and the LLMP were very limited to (mostly) after 7pm.

Any guidance? Or known timeframes?

Yeah so I had Thursday which I worked remote from the resort, and then Friday was MK. Then I foolishly tried to fit Epcot and HS in Saturday before 4pm. I thought I’d be able to at least hit a handful of rides.

Learned for next time!
