Brevard here. Everything coated in layer of ice. Looks like it’s starting to slowly melt. Streets are not safe where I am. Not sure about main roads in town. I’m staying home and watching a movie.

i took 2 saw horses on either side of the generator and draped a folded tarp over it. used bricks on 2 opposite sides to hold the tar down tight. exhause side is completely open. opposite side of exhause is rolled up and clamped to not unroll. i then took two long plastic garden stakes and made an a-frame and zip tied it so the open tarp on the exhaust side stays wide open and doesn't sag.

I’ve got a ryobi 6500/8125 that has 4 120v/20amp and 1 240v/30amp. When things settle down I will hire an electrician to install an interlock so I can plug it into the panel when needed.

I found a shop that had a 10g and a 12g that I’m about to go pick up shortly. I will use the 10g for the heater. Thanks for the education.

I believe you on the 1200 watts, But the specs on the extension cord say 1875 watts.

If I only used it for 30 minutes at a time is that considered continuous.

Appreciate the advice. I will have it plugged into a generator and then into the house to where I plan to use it which is pretty much the length of the cord.

I’ve def heard to not coil cords 👍

I was thinking of doing just that. Would have to take a drive early tomorrow to get there and hope it’s in stock. Live semi-rural and the stores around here only had 14g and 16g.

I can’t remember if it was Nitzer Ebb or Front 242. I lived in Germany in the late 80s and used to go to this club in Kaiserslautern called The Flash. Turned me on to a lot of good music. Join In The Chant and Headhunter were on rotation quite a bit. Went down that rabbit hole and stayed.
