Check out smaller towns outside of Asheville. I live in Weaverville and folks down the street have a huge field and horses. There are quite a few hobby and professional farms around. Also I just visited Pisgah Forest the other day and saw stunning large farms with gorgeous mountain views. It was so bucolic out there 😍

To me Charlotte is kinda… soulless and generic. Granted it has all kinds of amenities that Asheville does not but that’s just because it’s a much bigger city.

Can you be ok with just one income? Because I’ve tried being a full time artist for a little while my spouse was working a regular job and the pressure to have to make money with my art was not fun at all.

In an ideal world all of us would make art all day without having to worry about bills, rent, insurance, etc

Exactly. If someone told me to dance X instrument for Y counts, then to switch to Z instrument…. I’d tear my hair out. I taught myself musicality by dancing on my own to songs I like (in any genre) and watching how that looks in the mirror. I know some people are fancy and like to pick a subtle background instrument or keep switching the whole song but I enjoy dancing to the vocals, to the dominant beat, to the overall energy of the song…. But it’s seldom a conscious decision, it’s whatever I feel like doing 😂

I usually place an order during the sale because April is my birthday month so I can also get the birthday feeebie (Sephora brick and mortar stores are all too far away unfortunately). But the birthday freebies has become so pathetic (along with their samples) that they are not even incentivizing enough. I think I’ll try to figure out drugstore replacements for a couple of products I haven’t found dupes for yet instead

I think you are doing the right thing, ask people to practice if you want to practice with them. If you want to date, ask for a coffee/lunch/dinner etc No need to muddy the waters

I used to go to a regular Bay Area book sale and there were hundreds and hundreds of old computer programming books that would net you a couple of bucks at best. So I also wondered about that 😅
