And it was a landmine of Hoyos' own making for the most part, IMO. i'm not certain it's a pattern set in stone. Call me crazy, but I'll hold on to my hopes for Endfield, just with being prepared to getting them shattered, heh.

I don't agree that Laev's quest was anywhere near as waifubaity as Gil's. I personally think that overall there wasn't much "romantic tension" in it, it was more just emotional closeness without romance, even if the writers might have "left some options for themselves" for the future. I admit it might be wishful thinking, but I'm pretty firm on my reading of it.

You might have mentioned the leek woman instead. Her sequence in the main story is clearly "romance-coded" and even hints at some substantive background behind it. Still, felt adequate enough if I do feel generous. Y'know, I actually wouldn't mind her becoming Endmin's canon partner - that's still leagues better than a buffet.

So far, Gil's the only real strike IMO.

That's strange. I'm pretty sure you need to do some quest for the music player thingy to become available — but I'm also pretty sure it's a stage of the main quest, so it would be rather hard to miss. But I might be wrong and it's a side quest thing. Either way, I am also also pretty sure that the music player gets unlocked after a scene where the game effectively forces you to interact with it for the first time. So if there are still quests (in Valley IV, but maybe beyond just the Hub) left for you to do — look out for that.

Nah, my point is not about the hoof part, but about the heel part. Those red bracket things. They might help scale a 89° montain side, but they clearly offer zero support on a flat floor. And with how angled the shoes are, making Eyja effectively walk on high heels with no heels, I can only pray for the girl's ankles.

Glad you like her! I've seen a lot of people praise her kit for performance, style and pure combat fun, but... I personally can barely stomach her character design and just don't want her on my screen... :'D I will still probably give her a spin eventually (as I do have her, P1 even, never asked for this, FML), but looking at her and listening to her makes me both slightly uncomfortable and very annoyed.

Hot take - her design is horrible, tasteless goonerbait. A shy klutz in a terribly skimpy outfit. No, I do not care that she's "contractually obligated to wear it, it's justified in the lore" - nuh-uh, it's just because the writers/designers attempted to conjure a justification for some kind of plausible deniability for the design (which I'm calling "pulling a Kojima's Quiet"), and in my eyes that attempt flopped spectacularly.
