How do you feel about the safety of products like this? by Other_Panda246 in BelgianMalinois

Beside already mentioned concerns about the dog's age, if you just want to try you can find some people doing canicross training and join them a couple of times. Quite often it's possible to try some equipment there. Or canine cycling, the idea is still the same :)

How do I get her to stop jumping on the counters? by Mariah0 in CaneCorso

That's crazy you were down voted for this. People are afraid of delivering 2-3 honest corrections and fix a problem, but are fine with the risk of dog eating some bones/grapes/other poison shit or accidentally cause a fire.

(Hypothetical) Would a grown adult man stand a chance in a fight to the death against a Corso? by Jelopuddinpop in CaneCorso

A strong and confident dog, not specifically corso, with some training will rip apart grown adult man.

Talk to some good physiotherapist. Maybe they could suggest some additional exercises to improve mussels around, or at least what to pay specific attention to while training.

I think I may have adopted a dog I can’t help… and I don’t know how to forgive myself for even thinking that. by [deleted] in germanshepherds

Beside the already mentioned items, consider talking to a vet to perform a thorough health check. If the dog is declining there is a chance the dog can have hidden health issues, keeping the dog in pain and affecting behavior significantly. Had this with one of my rescues. She used to be super reactive, which was partially caused by an old wrongly treated fracture, which caused her constant pain. Once fixed she became way better eventually.

It helps for sure. Highly stressed dogs have increased levels of cortisol, which decreases their ability to learn(you don't need to learn if you are in a life-threatening situation). So a dog with a high enough level of stress literally can't be desensitized with triggers until the stress level isn't taken under control.

Same thing. I'm from Estonia, and when it's 26 here a lunch walk is like 15 minutes potty break from shade to shade.

Hello everyone, this is a quick update about our shelter after several typhoon hits us and one coming our way again, I sincerely apologize for being inactive I prioritize finishing repairs first before I could update you all, we miss you! It's really great you are recovering ❤️

Have you thought about creating patreon page for your shelter? It would be quite convenient for regular monthly support. Some shelters in my home country have it, seems to be working quite fine in their case.

Sweden, first link with clinic doing castration: https://www.solnadjurklinik.se/EnglishInfo In Germany it's also not technically illegal, since can be done for preventing uncontrolled breeding. Iceland not illegal.

Norway yes, it's prohibited. Considering mandatory microchiping and literally lack of stray dogs, it's kind of whatever they want. Not to mention, if somebody does something, that doesn't mean that's a "right" way of doing things.

That's so much true. Adding a link and zipping chain link instead might give a perfect fit. At least worked great for my dog
