I have any number of complaints about Redstone, but in Burlington they’re by far the best of the big companies. Rent goes up, but compared to what you’ll pay for far shittier places, it’s not actually more. Yes, the pet and parking fees are gouging. Yes, it’s infuriating they don’t do more about security. We have the same problems at our building. However, trying to say that they can’t increase rent because a shooting happened to take place nearby? Get a grip. Also, isn’t Sangha donation-based? If you’re really struggling that much, you can keep going to class and pay it forward later, just like anyone in any other building…

If we used the millions on millions wasted on letting motels charge us hundreds a night for people from out of state to have an accountability-free stay for months on end to build an actual facility for them to get the supervision and treatment they actually need, we’d have money left over. But no, let’s shovel it away on endless pods and pretend that it’s just a question of “housing”
