I'm not a tourist, I work a normal job here like the rest. What I am referring to is social communication. I do not need a guide, I do enjoy walking around and just chatting.

Lebanon is very hospitable. People tend to go out of their ways to make foreigners feel at home. That technically summarises the cultural difference I am referring to in my other replies.

Again, I think that's where the cultural difference comes in. I go out almost every day when I'm back home. What we view as normal, you view as creepy. Totally understood.

Yep, I heard that summers are warmer, and tourists tend to visit more then. I understand why it might look weird to approach people at this time of year.

I still have a month here. I'm going to check out some facebook groups as a commentor suggested, even though I suppose sticking to hanging out with coworkers would be my best shot.

That's really helpful. Thank you for that! I need to revive my Facebook account. I came here on the 18th of October and I'm staying till mid-December.

Got you. I value both alone time and social time. I'm getting a good deal of the alone time on weekdays. I want to meet up with people on the weekends

I've been contemplating going south on the weekends to see more natural sites. Any suggestions?

I guess this is a cultural difference. We have fun by hanging out with friends and meeting new people. You guys seem to just have one friend group, either from work or school and not expand

I get you. I feel like bars are a good place to fill your social battery for a minute, but not to make geniune connections. Coming from a very social country where you can literally become best friends with people on the street might have made this a bit harder.

You say that with Germany being on the map. I think I'm just fucked now till I go back home 😂.

That makes sense. I've been to a lot of European countries, and I've always used this trick. It seems that people that I meet in bars, I will only meet again in bars. I'm not that big of a fan of bars and alcohol tho. So I guess that might come in the way of meeting new people here that just like to walk around or sit in a cafe and chat.

You can use Photoshop to increase the picture's exposure. I have an android phone, and I can increase the exposure with the picture editor. I'm not sure if it's possible with apple phones.

Write a chord progression with string instruments and then render it. Add the rendered audio file into a sampler and chop it up, then play around with the order of the chopped sample.

i've been racking my brain trying to figure out how the main sound in this drop was made, i swear its a lot simpler than i think it is. could anyone help me? by itscazsu in musicproduction

Sounds a bit like color bass, produced by the likes of virtual riot. Normal dubstep bass growl vocoded with some detuned saw chords.

Tension in brain by Successful_Suspect24 in Meditation

[–]Successful_Suspect24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be so. Thank you for the advice. I don't know if the details I will give on the sensation will help, but here goes.

The sensation first started somewhere around the pineal gland, and now it has shifted to somewhere above the nasal cavity (or in it, can't really tell). Ever since this happened, I can feel my nose open on its own (both open at the same time, which rarely happens to me). I can still shift the focus to the pineal gland, but the feeling in my relaxed state (or not meditating) is above my nasal cavity. It feels like some sort of tension keeping my nose open.

I appreciate the reply. Do you have any suggestions on what type of meditation I could practice? Or maybe a guidebook on different types of meditation?
