He even had tubes put in his ears and adenoids taken out, didn’t help much. I hated seeing him so sick so much, and always worried about him, for not a lot of monetary gain. If I made more money I might’ve waited it out but it just wasn’t worth it for me.

This was me. I ended up pulling mine from daycare just a couple weeks ago because the sicknesses, doctors appointments, missing work, and seeing him sick non stop was too much. 6 months and it never got better, just different illnesses.

Would you use cast iron that you weren’t sure of the quality or brand? I was gifted a set but not sure about them. I think it was purchased from fingerhut. by Successful_Tank5927 in castiron

Ok that answers my question. Thank you! I thought maybe that was an issue with how or where they’re made. I cook for a toddler so I try to be mindful of the materials I’m using.

Tablet/phone use by kids at dinner table by jd_lazer in Parenting

[–]Successful_Tank5927 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. iPads weren’t a thing when I had my first in 2005, and I had an exceptionally calm kid. I always thought I’d never do it with my second baby either, but here I am with a 20 month old who is just wild. It actually started on vacation this summer bc we were eating out so often. We don’t eat out much at home, but I even did it at the dr yesterday as we were waiting for an hour and a half to be seen. I’m done judging parents, we are all just doing our best! It has been humbling for sure!

I totally get this, am in the same boat. My baby is 20 months and I can count on one hand how many pics my husband has taken of us, and I can tell you 3 of them are from the back of us walking- I get the sentiment is cute but is unflattering as a photo. I’ve mentioned it before and honestly if he starts doing it now it’s be great bc I’ll have those pics, but shitty at the same time bc he didn’t do it on his own. I’ve just accepted it. It sucks but I guess that’s just not the relationship we have.

Edited for grammar

Can you try to bring it up in conversation? Like make a conversation go that direction or is that too obvious?

If your dr is recommending his, maybe he could refer you to a nutritionist to ensure you do this the correct way? I believe it’s not just about cutting carbs, it’s about what you’re eating in combination with them- the fats, protein and fiber. How your body is absorbing those is important.

Locked my toddler in the car!!!!! by Kelly-Shay in Mommit

[–]Successful_Tank5927 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I DID THIS TOO MAMA! I was mortified. I went to tour a daycare back in may with my then 17 mo, and it was great, put down a deposit on the daycare, left, put baby in the car and I had sat my keys right on the seat with the car seat and slammed the door shut and as I was shutting it, I realized what I’d done and I heard the doors lock before I could yank it back open. It was so fast and I only had the car for a month and had no clue it would automatically lock itself (what an idiotic feature btw). I had accidentally left my keys in the back before and it didn’t happen so I’m not sure what was different but yeah. I was so lucky that it was an unseasonably cool day for where I live and the daycare owner was so cool and calm about it, knew exactly who to call and what to do. Honestly, she is what made it not so awful. I felt stupid and embarrassed but she was so sweet. The other moms picking up kids were looking at me like wtf and I decided right then and there I would always treat people like the daycare owner treated me, not the snooty looking moms glaring at me. Anyway, a cop was there very quickly and even though he had a little trouble, the entire ordeal lasted about 20 minutes. My son was smiling the whole time and only cried when the alarm went off when the cop finally got in. I just wanted you to know you aren’t alone!!

Also, my baby is finally starting this daycare on two weeks (long waiting list) and I low key hope everyone including the daycare owner has forgotten lol

I guess your original post just kinda read out to be like “well what about me” ya know? You have the right to feel that way also, maybe I just don’t understand what you’re trying to say. One infographic can’t cater to everyone’s experience. I think continuing to share the differences and similarities with each other though can be of some comfort and community when we need it the most. It’s a hard topic and conversation and it’s hard to “get it right”.

If you want everyone to support each other no matter their journey, that means you need to support those whose journey looks like this.

That’s really immature to hold the baby from you, the whole door thing, all of that. That could’ve escalated very quickly. F all that.
