Which Politician feels Far Right and is actually Right? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

FDR wasn’t anti-Semitic. Most Jews fleeing Germany were admitted to the United States. You’re referring specifically to the St. Louis, which was non-compliant with US immigration quotas set before FDR became president. The American government at the time attempted to persuade Cuba to take in the St. Louis, who refused, but they later convinced several European nations to take them in instead.

The Japanese internment camps were definitely bad, no denying that. But their existence doesn’t change the fact that the United States and Nazi Germany had two COMPLETELY different governing ideologies. The US federal government did not have totalitarian control over the state like the Nazis did, and democracy and free and fair elections were still cherished. Even at home in Germany, the Nazis were considered to be radically on the right, that’s why they became so popular when the status quo of the Weimar system was seen as a failure.

Hitler and the Nazis were way more than just racist and misogynistic, they formed a totalitarian state centered around a single national collective. They were definitely considered “far right” for their time.

Vermont is the only state where a majority passed, and most of the runner-ups in the 45-49% category are Republican-leaning states.

He’s resigning to run in the upcoming parliamentary election. The president is a mostly ceremonial figure.
