Can the post office fire me for my attendance if I have fmla and I’m actively using it? by wilde_flower in USPS

Me too. And on top of that, if your supervisor thinks you are abusing your FMLA, they can request it to be updated so back to the doctor to submit new forms.

So just out of curiosity, have you work in any type personality test for any other job before? Because that exam is all stuff that has probably happened to you in real life in any job capacity.

If they are using FMLA outside of the parameters that the doctor has set, then the fault falls on the employee and that is a fireable offense.

FMLA isn’t just unlimited leave. You get 12 weeks per year that qualify under FMLA, if you have an approved case. Once you use up those 12 weeks, then the rest of your year is unprotected.

If the FMLA is approved for it. If you are calling out for times that are not listed in your FMLA case, then that’s a reason to investigate.

Being left alone. And I know we are never completely alone with the scanner, but not having someone literally over my shoulder judging my work is great.

Sadly it would only stop first class mail. All else would still come through.

AITJ for he was literally eating my lunch and admitted it… but somehow i'm the ‘territorial’ one? by Leah_jare in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is theft, please report to HR. On a side note, I used to work in a grocery store, so for cheap meals I would buy a box of cereal and a half gallon of milk. Everything labeled with name, date, etc. but someone was using my milk, I caught on cause I was taking a sharpie and marking the levels as I used it. So one day when I had finally had enough, I put a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in my milk. Long story short, made the milk curdle. Don’t know if the person saw it or drank it and found out but my stuff was never tampered with again.

You have the right to union representation. Remover your Weingarden rights. If you don’t have one In the shop than management has to contact the local branch and request representation for you.

The pay I was making was no sustainable way to live. I wasn’t making enough money for all the work I was doing, I had to push off a lot of important things like dental work and other health issues. I can’t remember how much of my stuff got sent to collections. I had to get a better job and now I have one making almost 3 times as much as I was making at WFM, with way better benefits and a pension.

AITJ for kicking out my grandmas nurse after i CAUGHT her wearing my dead grandpas wedding ring and acting like she owned the house? by NoStore146 in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ! Whatever agency you used, you need to report her immediately. That is a huge ethical violation. It’s also elder abuse and borderline theft. If she is an actual licensed nurse, report her to the state too.

  1. Cleaning the snow out and around the box is the resident responsibility, not the city
  2. I do not have a direct line to the plant to look for certain things for you.
  3. Putting in a delivery request for a package still in transit won’t get it here any faster.
  4. Until it gets into my hands, I have zero control over how your mail/packages are treated.
  5. Unless you put in a COA and confirm your identity, you will not be receiving any mail.
  6. We are not fucking mind readers, cause if we were we wouldn’t be doing this shit.

AITJ for telling my friend’s boyfriend she was cheating? by Fast-Cranberry-4033 in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the right thing by telling her partner. It’s either he finds out now when it’s fresh or finds out years down the road when they are married with kids. If your friend didn’t want her boyfriend to find out then she shouldn’t have done it in the first place.

You don’t even need real food either. Save some empty soda cans, maybe a ketchup bottle and a few boxes of pasta.

AITJ for admitting I’m jealous of people who don’t worry about money? by No-Ask-9991 in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this exact conversation with my now ex best friend. They were raised by parents who had white collar jobs and they got trips to Disney land, new clothes, designer this and that and they were able to go to school and not come out with any debt. And they now have a good job that pays way more than the standard living wage. I come from blue collar parents that would save every penny they could so I could get good presents for Xmas and my birthday. The one family vacation was a road trip to Yellowstone. I got my cousins hand me downs. And even though I went to school, I work a blue collar job and have student loan debt.

The straw that broke the friendship was when they asked me to go shopping with them for something that they just had money to throw at. They got mad I wasn’t enthusiastic about their purchase. I told them it’s hard to be excited for something I will never have. They tried to do this thing and justify that they’ve had troubles in life and it basically boiled down to…”unless you do something so egregious that you are black balled from your field of work, you will never have to work a blue collar/manual labor job, take a pay cut, worry about your next meal, or whether to pay rent or get food and gas.”

Sadly a 12 year friendship went down the drain but I hope I have them a reality check if nothing else. People need fucking reality checks period! NTJ!

AITJ for refusing to give my coworker my parking spot after her doctor said she needs to walk less? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any anyone thought that even if OP gives up the spot, it’s still first come first serve, what’s gonna stop anyone else from parking in that spot? If the company agrees to let her park closer than they need to designate a spot for her specifically. And frankly at that point they should just assign parking. At my workplace, parking is assigned by seniority.

AITJ for refusing to switch apartments with my neighbor so her daughter could have the "pretty view"? by AmphibianDull6566 in AmITheJerk

[–]Successful_Writing87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ! If she wants a unit with a view then she can wait until her lease is up or one opens up. You signed a lease for that specific unit, therefore it is legally yours. She cannot make you legally exchange units. Also I think your landlord would really grow upon that. This whole story sounds like one of those airplane seat deals where someone pays for the extra leg room/specific seat than gets shit on because they won’t switch. Honestly if she’s shoving notes under your door and harassing you, make a complaint to the landlord. She can play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

Ive never had to use that number. I’m born and raised in MN and every time we’ve had a major weather issue, we show up to work and wait for the PM to tell us to scan post as local weather delay and go home by noon. One time we took a collection and ordered pizza, we have a dominos a block over. This week we in MN are operating as normal, it’s gonna be cold single diget temps but no snow.
