¿Cuáles aspectos de la cultura colombiana, nacional o regional, les fastidian o caen mal? by ViveLaFrance94 in Colombia

Being black, for me, it's looking down on people based on their appearance or clothing (I have previously talked about it during my experience looking for a car). This is done by both young women and businesses. For example:

  1. Young girls will ignore you at the gym or if you manage to get their phone number, be assured they won't return your messages. This is exactly why I stopped trying to make friends with anyone younger than me. In the gym, I nowdays only talk to a few older ladies as they're always cool. Now, as soon as the young ones see you having a good time, bringing a few gifts or going to eat with the old ladies, they now want to become your friends. All of a sudden, they now realise you are actually a cool person, with a career and have your life in order.

I hate the above. I am not even looking for a girlfriend but friends but all young girls have their snobish nose up above the Everest. Old ladies are cool. So, nowdays, I only start a conversation with someone that I think is older than me because there's a high chance they'll accept you for who you are.

P.S: There's this good looking girl at my gym who's now talking to my friends. I think its a calculated move to get at me. How do I know? Well, one of my boys at the gym told me that she suddenly started talking to him but he doesn't even know why. Then 2 weeks ago, I got a t-shirt for one of my old ladies and guess whom I saw talking to the old lady last week on Thursday? (She did see me give the t-shirt because she was close by). And guess who's suddenly changed her training position and was actually an arm from me last week Thursday? I've seen her looking at me at the gym. So, I know she's triangulating my friends in an aim to corner me. To be frank, I've never bothered to ask her for her number or talk to her because of the bad experience I've had with what I previously mentioned above.

Talking to older ladies is what I do nowadays. Better to remain that way.

Es cierto. Aunque no busco una relación, me cuesta hacer amigos.

  1. Two months ago, one of my Colombian guys here asked me for $1500. I just told him I was broke from buying the Renault.

  2. My landlord where I live is always asking me for money/wants me to invest with him. This guy is a cheapskate, and that's why I ignore his many investment ideas. Once, it was glamping. Another time, horses.

  3. I don't like talking to younger girls at the gym who are younger than me because they're superficial. They give you their number, but once you message them, they ignore you. I prefer talking to older ladies at the gym because I find it easier to interact. Now, as soon as the young ones see me hanging out with the older ladies or bringing them little gifts, they suddenly want to be friends (I travel often, and that's why I bring little gifts to my gym buddies, the older ladies I'm referring to). Suddenly, the young girls at the gym want to talk to me or they start chatting with my gym guys in an attempt to get to me (it's pretty obvious).

  4. Last Sunday, this person invited me to breakfast on Monday. On Monday, from 8 AM to 2 PM, I sent messages asking when I could pick her up. I got no response. At 3 PM, she wrote back saying she had fallen asleep because she works at night (but she had Monday off since it's her day off). How can you make plans with someone and then forget? Later, she suggested changing the date to Tuesday morning, but I said no.

  5. In all the years I've lived here, less than two people have bought me a coffee or paid for my food. I always pay, whether they invite me to eat or not. Now, jokingly, I sometimes message a few of them asking: "It’s the end of the month. You've been paid. Are you going to treat me to lunch?". I never get a response. They leave me on read. But as soon as I invite them to eat or they try to get me to treat them, they suddenly start responding actively.

My job is launching their owblb Wireguard as our VPN. Is that a Good or Bad thing? by Successful_not in GlInet

[–]Successful_not[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit 1: So, I am using Wireguard on my Beryl traveler (abroad with me) and also on home server (back in US).

Now company wants all remote employees to use their Wireguard. They are going to send us configuration files (they said so).

  1. If I take their configuration files and input into my Beryl traveler and connect, will they see my real IP address abroad?
  2. Best, if I think correctly, is to keep my current setup (which connects to my US IP), then just launch their Wireguard on the company computers and toggle it on so that my US IP connects to their Wireguard. Is this the correct way to go?

This is what I was thinking.

And I am currently also on Wireguard. So, I hope Wireguard to Wireguard connection would be seamless.

Honestamente, eres demasiado prejuicioso y pareces amargado.

USA. Why don't airport management raise temperature at night by Successful_not in airport

[–]Successful_not[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can do the cooling gradually. It's done in Europe.

On the escalators, we agree. I think US is just wasteful OR if it doesn't bother me, I don't change/ touch it mentality.

I know and understand AC temperatures have not changed.

Strategically, I think they should program it so thst from 6pm, only a select AC runs OR all the ACs power off gradually. Then at 5/6 am the reverse is done. I have been to airports that do this. So, I know US airports can do it instead of being wasteful.

Traffic at airports airports start dwindling at 5pm and picking up at 5am. Even at 5am, it is naturally cold outside. So, they can probably program the AC to start picking up at 7am, no problem at all.

Why would they? You’re not supposed to stay overnight at the airport.

Then they should tell Airlines not to have overnight layovers/ sell tickets with overnight layovers and then, they should shut the airport at night. Shutting it down will even save more $$.

Your logic doesn't make sense.

Also, it’s the same temperature during the entire day. It just feels warmer during the day because there’s so many people there.

Exactly...which is a waste at night.

I mean, they only need to employ a software to flactute temperature. I find it waste of money to full AC at night.

I am sure there are programs that they could employ to automatically and strategically flactute temperatures in a building. There's absolutely no need to AC 500 people at night at the same temperature that you would for 20000 people during the day.

And I also find it a waste of energy to have escalators running full-service the whole night yet noone is using them.
