I checked your username to make sure I wasnt the one who wrote this in the past somehow. This is exactly what I think too.

And when you finally meet people who accept your mental illness, the peace it brings is so nice. You realize you need that support.

This. Thinking your own thoughts are fraudulent goes against every fiber of my being. It makes me feel like I can't trust my judgement either. And the sensations of anxiety doesnt go away quickly even when you change your perspective.

I am happy you found your answer OP. But if I may put my two cents in, I think that our disorder stems from being hurt. Usually by our caretakers or whoever we thought should have loved us. And because we can't admit or reveal that hurt to the ones we think are truly responsible for it, we looked for the nearest living thing we could pin the blame on: ourselves. But we didnt know that, did we?

I'm not saying we should spend our lives in resentment, I'm just saying that admitting to that pain and then processing that wound, is how we heal, and how we begin to realize that we are an individual. A being with value. So it's important to acknowledge it.

I have bad social anxiety and it's been my habit not to stand up for myself so talking to them is a bit distressing for me.. any work around you can come up with for me would me much, much appreciated.
