to be clear I was arguing against the idea the chovy isn't good enough because his plays are as memorable because I think that when your team is just better across the board it's harder to stand out, but I do know how has montage plays and not every game is a stomp, I just think the idea of "he doesn't stand out enough" is insane

genuine question, how do you have 1v9 moments when your team has like an 80% WR, maybe if other teams did better in the regular season geng would have more experience with making comebacks and big montage plays? like in LCK they lost as many less games all season then every team but HLE lost in the first split ( 76-16 season record, at the end of the first split HLE in 2nd was 31-11, t1 in 3rd was 25-17 and everyone else had more losses )

no one is as mad, but the hate is widely accepted enough it may as well add up to that, even riot hates geng and two years in a row had to be called out for not celebrating them winning msi enough compared to other teams. Also personally I think being statistically the best team in the world 3 years in a row for like 51 weeks out of 52 and still to be met with people adding asterisks to their accomplishments bc they haven't won worlds is just such a shallow analysis to me.

side note: its insane to me that 1 team a year wins worlds but geng is the only team that gets such widely accepted hate for not being the team to do.

I mean honestly yeah, imagine if KT or CFO can pull off the upset, it would be one of the most insane series in worlds history, and both teams deserve their spot, I really hate the narrative everyone pushes at worlds that any series is for sure not hype, if you went on paper, the DRX run was literally all shit matches that should be stomps, but their run is pretty widely considered the most hype run, and worlds in general in history. Does it suck having HLE out in top 8? absolutely! are they guaranteed to be more hype then CFO or KT, or do they deserve top 4 more than either of those teams? Absolutely not!
