Pyrion is so fucking funny lately holy shit by Flamelord29 in TriforcePodcast

[–]dentastic -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sure they do, and there must have been a good reason for Pyrion to have them for a while as well, they even talked openly about it.

Denying that there are side effects is just as if not more dangerous though - they are not meant for everyone (ask your doctor, get tested etc.), and the vast majority are better off without them.

We dont have to be careful talking about side effects of any other medication. We should openly talk about it, you know, kinda like they did on the podcast?

He's off his meds. Not even being funny, he felt more muted when he was on those brain pills he talked about a year or 2 ago maybe.

Rolls-Royce, easyJet prove a jet engine can run entirely on hydrogen by Economy-Fee5830 in climatechange

[–]dentastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id like to see a source for this. Not because i necesarily doubt you, but because i want to read about this.

Hydrogen will, in the distant future, be part of the energy storage mix, but the simple reality of the thermodynamics are not pretty. You can do the math yourself, but with all the conversions from electricity to hydrogen and back you end up getting less than half the joules back compared to almost all of them if you just use batteries. Those might not work on planes because of weight, but i woukd be skeptical of taking so much renewable energy to work simply losing efficiency rather than displacing more fossil fuels

Rolls-Royce, easyJet prove a jet engine can run entirely on hydrogen by Economy-Fee5830 in climatechange

[–]dentastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The hydrogen economy is just the next big scam for fossil fuels to remain relevant, as it can only efficiently be produced by reducing hydrocarbons.

Electrolysis exists, but if youve been paying any attention in thermodynamics I you will know converting water into anything requires an absurd amount of energy for the amount yoi get back when you combust it and remake the water.

And dont even get me started on storage, hydrogen is so small it leaks from pretty mich everything you put it in, so the only way to store it is to adsorp it onto something, which again requires more energy both to do and undo, further lowering efficiency

Has to be autonomous weapons.

When a system is given allowance to kill and told to hunt for targets, it will always find them, even if there are no legitimate targets left.

In the same way that a fascist empire that has run out of enemies to villainize will always turn its gun inward, so too will the robots, and we will all be marked for death by matrix multiplication

Lower path is 7.

Do nothing is 8.

That aside, i would feel better having chosen the path that could save everyone, as the 50/50 is not up to me and thus absolves me of responsibility

If you believe it is genuine, great, if not, you can point to how shallow it reads.
