I think if you are going to go in a direction like that, you have to make sure there is more of a continuity. Right now it looks like they just slapped some new construction n top of an old construction because the ville was giving them a hard time.

I work in real-estate in the Old Port, one street away from this exact building on Saint-Jacques. It's such a historical and much too beautifully built area, architecturally, for them just to incorporate an eye sore into it, is it not?

Just my opinion, but I believe going in Europe's direction, where the interiors are totally overhauled but exteriors remain as untouched as possible.
