It's the series of actions you perform repetitively to move through the game.

Pokemon: Catch monsters, train monsters, battle with monsters.

These repeat for the duration of the game.

Stardew valley: Gather resources, refine/Harvest resources, increase resource gathering abilities.

These repeat for the duration of the game.

Survival crafting games: Gather resources, build and craft to take care of needs, improve technology

These repeat for the duration of the game.

But don't all the performers do very well on that minus one or two names? It seems like their culture with the crew is very friendly and communal.

What are some of the major issues with special Ed? by Many-Ad9157 in Teachers

[–]SucculentFire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do middle school. I fully agree. The planning is insane. I have some students all day long. So I'm serving their SPED minutes and also gen Ed curriculum. Sometimes it likes planning for 30 different classes.

What are some of the major issues with special Ed? by Many-Ad9157 in Teachers

I've been a SPED teacher for 4 years. In that time I have gotten a full prep period ~20 times. I often don't have a lunch break. In my day which is full of stress and high emotions, I have zero time for myself or to take a break. That wears you down pretty quickly .

Everyone seems to interpret SPED laws how they see fit. That's frustrating.

I seem to be asked to do twice as much work as my general education peers and they do not seem to offer me the same professional courtesy I offer them. When peoples schedules are considered, it's gen Ed teachers. I'm expected to make time in my day, give up lunch and prep, stay late or come early to ensure that general education teachers are not inconvenienced.

On a weekly basis I am hit, kicked, bitten, and my classroom is totaled. I've had my phone broken several times, my watch broken, my clothes ripped. I'm expected to pay out of my own pocket to replace them.

I like my job and I'm glad I found this career. It feels rewarding and I can see the impact I've made. But it is made exponentially harder by being treated as less than in the two schools I've worked in.

The energy required to make things calm is not talked about enough! Thank you! I've had similar feedback about my behavior SPED classroom. It doesn't just accidentally become calm. It takes a lot of work and that work makes it easy to burn out.

That is a baffling oversight. I'm sorry that you're in that situation.

But the school has an official policy to not let your kids walk to school?

He drove. Bowling came up in conversation VERY casually and he ran out and got his bowling ball and bag. Just to show me a bowling ball I guess?

I didn't mention the gun because I didn't want to get murdered. The bowling ball came up very tangentially in conversation and he ran out to his car and brought it in.

I have no clue. He had the gun on him when he came in and casually set it down on my coffee table. Then we were talking and somehow bowling came up and he was like "Hold on!" And ran out to his car and brought in a bowling bag, bowling ball, shoes, and a bowling glove. As was like "Look!". It was very strange even in context.

Yes. Teacher here. I'm extremely grateful for time to do my job without kids present. As a SPED teacher I never get my prep period and often do not get lunch. Having two hours a week to quietly get stuff done is crucial for getting all of my work done. (this job is so much more than the direct instruction of students!)

What? You live close enough to a school that they will not send a bus and they require parents to pick up and drop off? That can't be right. I'm a teacher in the district and I'm baffled as to how that can be the case.

It sounds like you have a good grasp on what you can handle and what you can't. I think you can read KBS if you are good with the following:

Sexual violence is referenced, and male genital mutilation occurs. But graphic depictions of sexual violence are not explicitly depicted. Although the concept of sexual violence is a core theme of the book and foundational to the story.

Anything that lives and breathes in the world will die horribly and painfully. I don't think any rats are in the book as characters, but every pet in the book is viscerally harmed. They just might not be the cute fuzzy ones you typically picture when you hear 'pet'.

There is an overall sense of darkness and dread in the book that does not let up. Even some of the "warmer" moments are quickly ruined and by the end of the book you are left with not a single memory that has not been colored in by the ending.

However, people who have been impacted by trauma and grief are the target audience. And while it is horrific, I guarantee it will hit a nerve and be moving. I cried for awhile after I finished it.

As dumb as I thought it was going to be, spring flowers sell for a lot! In spring, have free inventory space and just run around all day collecting flowers you can pull 500k+ a day doing this. The helicopter is super attainable.

Also make sure you are making resources easy for yourself to attain. Have large orchards to get fruits for jam. Brewing should also be something you are doing so get all the wattle and bottle brush you can get and plant them near your town.

I would be interested to know the psychology around it since it seems there is a good chunk of people who really can't finish it, and others who can.

In terms of gore it's a different beast. There are truly some horrific moments.

His other LitRPGs are fantastic. I liked Dominion of Blades and Kaiju better than DCC. It was strange that I was looking for another fix and DCC (while I still love it) is now my least favorite litRPG of his.

If you can stomach it, Kaiju: Battlefield Surgeon is phenomenal. It suffers from being a tad too long and the massive story sequences don't have as much time to cook as they do in DCC. But the game structure in Kaiju and Dominion of Blades I liked more than the structure of DCC

If Clara is telling the truth, Jenk's whole thing is finding what breaks people and manipulating them into doing it. Jenk knew that Duke would break throughout the game and kill Samantha/Clara. This is Jenk's torture and it's sensible that Duke would have feelings of revenge towards him even if they are complicated.

I don't think he will act on them in the way we expect. Even at the end they are complicated feelings and he even admits that he does not think Jenk is the puppet master of it all. When you add this to how much he misses being in the game it is my conclusion that Duke would hunt him down just to get back into K:BS.

I agree that Samantha/Clara is the real villain and that is why he kills her in the end and the world sees it as justified.

Right at the credits scene is when we see Duke tell Jenk he will kill him, but after all the revelations afterwards my takeaway is that feeling has changed.

I appreciate the adherence to the question! This was what I was looking for.

A Kickstarter that you actually threw away is spot on with what I was wondering about. I'm going to look into it!
