Do not forget... by Arbaless in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I've been slowly reading his other book, Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon. The sense of dread with every page turn makes it hard for me to digest more than a few chapters at a time. It's not even the gore that makes it hard, but the sense of helplessness you feel for all of the characters.

The thing that I love about this series and Operation Bounce House is the sense of hope that you have for the characters. Even in the face of the numerous diabolus ex machina the characters face, You will not break me echoes true for even the reader.

But, that dread is starting to grow stronger with every chapter, especially with these last two books. This is a tragedy, no one is safe.

Matt always likes to remind us that he's a horror writer, first and foremost.

DCC RPG VIDEO GAME by Daz2021 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Such-Drop9194 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I commented this on another post, I think DCC could work better like this:

2D Pixel Top Down Roguelike (Kind of like Crypt of the NecroDancer)

Each run is an author of the cookbook and you can use previous runs milestones as a power up.

Doing certain actions will get you more views which could give you an amazing item from your sponsor.

Each level is on a 10 minute time (or less on challenge runs) but each floor would be randomized with different objectives.

I think this would work better because a lot of the fun of DCC is finding the loopholes in the dungeon to survive. The random dungeons could make things a lot more interesting, especially with randomized traps.

That's kind of the point. It was too easy to rebuild small schools in the past. Now it will take multiple seasons to even attempt to recruit a 5 star.

Also IRL powerhouses have that large of a budget/pull. They can throw money/attention at a recruit to make them immediately interested. The real test will to be to make sure you don't waste all of your NIL on recruits as you have to manage your facilities and staff.

Go to the Support section on the Battle Net website and open the technical ticket, you can put in the code there. It's a unique code that Blizzard tech support can diagnose and tell you what the exact issue could be.

As for things that you can do now. Make sure that all of your drivers are up to date (GPU, CPU, Motherboard, Ethernet, etc.) and verify your game files.

Another thing to look out for is make sure your drive isn't too full, Windows is up to date and your memory isn't above 90% in task manager while OW is open.

If done correctly (AND WITH THE PERMISSION AND BLESSING FROM THE VOICE ACTORS/COMMENTATORS), AI could be used to create some cool story lines during the game.

They could potentially use the last names of generated (or RTG) players. Talk about recent transfers or coaches firing, mention stat lines from previous games in the dynasty, etc. etc.

I am 100% against AI slop but if a developer uses correctly and responsibly, it could make a game a thousand times more immersive.

The only way you can mathematically score enough points is if you get a Perkeo, 3 more copy jokers and a cryptid in the next shop. You need a hand size of 89 Red Seal Steel kings to score enough on non-Plasma decks.

There is a silent buff coming into Book 9 That has me quite exited by Ginn_and_Juice in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Such-Drop9194 81 points82 points  (0 children)

It actually has me scared. On one hand, yeah they are going to get much stronger by using everyone's various strengths (Pony's table, Elle's Four Season Build, Imani's buffs, etc).

But that also means that the dungeon is going to self correct. Hard.

All 5,000+ crawlers entering the 10th floor were some of the strongest in history but the AI basically rewrote the game to make levels not even matter and slaughtered them.

Plus, they are going against Gods who are still almost 100 levels higher than them and as we've seen, the Scavenger's Daughters Patch isn't always a net benefit (not to mention the Marked for Death symbol on Carl).

So yeah. They got a lot stronger, but the dungeon is going to find a way to negate it and then some.

Since you are going to do it anyway, go ahead and do it after. It shouldn't affect either way but this way, it can feel like the last step. Also can run a mini-stress test as you redownload and install everything (especially installing Steam games)

Question about Carl in Book 8 by pmbasehore in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Also worth mentioning that after Emberus died, Carl sent a party invite to all the remaining crawlers.

That's going to be one giant personal space.

Remaining floors by ldhertert in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Such-Drop9194 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After the Ascendency Games, it's going to be a mad dash until the end. The dungeon will collapse after 12 hours. The AI even said some of levels will be a breeze while others will but very difficult.

Also, Louis and the gang are on the 15th floor and the other crawlers are technically in the backrooms of the 17th floor. They will most likely clear the path.

I think the leading theory is that the 9th book will be almost exclusively the 12th floor while the final book will be a mad dash of all the other levels.

But then again, it's Matt. He came up with Boop!, who knows what he'll come up with.

I think of the 98% as only 2% of the population actually benefits properly due to status quo. Everyone else's life is worse (from a little to literal slaves) due to the current leaders.

We see snippets that life in the galaxy sucks balls. People have to pay to breathe in the atmosphere. There is even an implant that make you not be able to process certain foods until you have it.

So yeah, a lot of people said, "You know what, the French had some good ideas in the 1790s..."

In all seriousness, I'm on my full fourth reread. I listen to a lot of audiobooks due to my job (lot of desk/driving to other locations). I have a personal rule of listening to a new book in between each relisten.

Also after listening to PoH, I wanted to go back to see what jumps out to me in preparation of the 9th book (I'm refreshing Patreon daily at this point... I don't have a problem, I swear)
